FCP Project format question...

Ok, so I shot this video on my HVX in 720/24p - then edited it on a timeline with the settings of NTSC DV (3:2). Don't ask why -- it was a dumb move on my part. All clips were at 75% size in order to fit the frame, etc. So, created another new sequence with the proper DVCPRO HD settings, and copied all the work that I did in the previous incorrect sequence to the new one. Everything copied over, but the frame size is totally screwed. I had to go to each clip and change the 75% back to 100% size... and still, the entire thing is stretched to the wrong aspect ratio. The whole thing is squeezed a bit horizontally. When I drag the same footage from my browser to this timeline, the footage looks fine, but all the stuff I copied over is screwed. I really don't want to re-edit the entire thing clip by clip -- is there a way to easily correct this?

Thanks...

Since you don't want to start from scratch I would suggest these methods. You don't say what platform you are using but I get the feeling its FCP. Did you render this sequence? (That should have been the first indication that maybe something was wrong.) If you did have to render then copying the files over to another sequence might be taking the rendered files over too so I would try this. Remove attributes on all the clips in your sequence, open a new project with the DVCpro hd settings making sure that the settings of the new project sequence are correct. Then copy the removed attributes files and paste them in to the new project sequence timeline. Just make sure that the sequence settings are correct before you drop into timeline not trying to change them after they are dropped in. This is not something I have actually done so this is just a guess and I hope this helps.

It is on FCP 5.1 -- yes, the enitre project has been rendered. Half the work is in the filters & transitions... so I'd hate to remove them. Any other suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

- Select all the clips in the timeline (Apple+A)
- Right click one of them.
- Select 'Remove attributes' from the context menu.
- Check 'Basic Motion' and 'Distort'
- Click ok.
