FCP - Log & Transfer Problems

So, I have a few clips that play just fine in the Log & Transfer window. Audio and video are great.

The problem is when I try and import them to FCP I get errors each time. It just won't transfer. (red exclamation point)

I have imported other footage from this particular shoot no problem, it's just these few clips.

HELP!

What kind of errors?

If it's dropped frames, try turning off
User Prefs:General: Abort Capture on Dropped Frames

Have you tried Capture Now?

Crazy thing, I choose a external HD with Firewire 800 and it worked.

Does FCP not like Firewire 400 for certain transfers?

FCP - Log &Transfer - Weird speed change after import????

FCP - Log &Transfer - Weird speed change after import????

The issue - I shot several 2 minute interviews with HVX set at 720/60p with frame rate set to 24.

I used FCP L&T to import clips. Prior to import, playing the clips on camera and in FCP L&T preview player had no sound or video problems. However after importing into FCP, the clips became slo-mo's, as if shot at 60fps. The audio file is out of sync with the ending 60% of the sound track missing. If I look at the imported clip with Quicktime it reports the clip is "DVCProHD 720p/60", 23.97 frame rate. Somehow L&T is screwing up the speed flags during the import.

If I take the exact same card and process via P2 Log Pro, the files are converted to Quicktime at the correct speed with no audio sync problems. The Quicktime inspector shows the file to be the same "DVCProHD 720p/60", 23.97 frame rate.

What might I be doing wrong with Log and Transfer to cause this problem????

Is there a setting in FCP that must be adjusted prior to running L&T??

(My setup : MacBook Pro, FCP 6.05, OSX 105.5)

BTW I created same issue using "log & transfer" on a MacPro tower from a copy of the P2 card "No Name".

Please help!

remove dupe frames

remove dupe frames

Try importing with the "remove advance pulldown and duplicate frames" checkbox selected under Preferences in Log and Transfer (click down arrow next to the gear/star icon near top of window to access this). May do the trick.
Good luck!

I had the same problem, I found the un-checking the "Remove advance pulldown and duplicate frames" box fixed it. Yea shooting 720p rather then 720pN is stupid..... I pulled a stupid too :( oops

Maby it was something weired going on with your scratch disk. So when you changed disk you also changed scratch disk? I got that problem once.
