Favorite LOGOs

Hey everyone,

I'm currently in the process of getting my logo and business cards designed and my graphic artist so he could get a feel of what I like wanted me to give him 5 of my favorite logos. Now I figured this would be easy but alas it isn't. I already have a version of my logo that I did and it's the one in my sig but here is a slightly bigger version http://myspace-759.vo.llnwd.net/00588/95/71/588231759_l.jpg. Also the word mark in the logo isn't really finalized and it just something I threw in there but the main portion is the Phoenix symbol. Everyone let me know what you think of it and post some of your favorite.

This looks pretty tacky and amature. The color scheme is not well planned out for one. And the font for the letters is hardly readable. This would look good on the cover art for an old 80's nintendo game.

Anyways, probably sounds harsh, but I assume you are looking for real opinions. If you want examples of good graphic design go to http://www.24-7media.de/

Hey Antar,
I think the logo is pretty good. And yeah that was harsh. But I think you might be better suited with something that has more punch to it.

No matter what you decide though, a business card is a good thing. I had some made up real fast because I needed one for a potential client. Now I have 500 that I don't really like too much. I now need to come up with a better one.

Thanks for the feedback. Now when you said it look tacky which portion ? The phoenix symbol which is what I wanted feedback on or the whole thing w/ the word mark which I said I just threw in there.

Well, the text really is the icing on the cake. And the phoenix just doesn't look like a phoenix. If you were a client of mine, I would probably work together a design that at least makes it clear it's a phoenix. Right now this looks like a badge a pilot would wear. The colors also do not work together. Dark blue and pink (or red... I can't tell). They work together in some scenarios, but not in this structure. This overall just doesn't feel too original either, and wouldn't stick out to me if I was looking for a multimedia company.

The bird does look like something from the 70's or early 80's. Maybe a Journey album cover. And the font/font color is not readable at all. I had to look REALLY hard to see the "multimedia" part.

Is it too late to change this logo? I am sure that if you got a few DVXusers to submit some examples you could put something together real quick. There's some really talented designers on this board. Good luck!

It doesn't have to be clear it's a phoenix because a lot of people don't even know what a phoenix is.The check is nike doesn't have anything to do with shoes. The colors come from a gradient from red to blue. Hey that rhymes! But back on topic. You say it's doesn't feel that original what other design does it remind you of ? also do you have any samples of multimedia companies that stick out so I can compare ? Thanks for your input

You are right the font is hard to read but I didn't want to post a huge image in the thread and i'm not at home right now. It's not to late to change the logo because it's not even near the finished version.

Go ahead and post the huge image. I can't access "myspace" from work (firewall blocks it), so I haven't been able to join in the discussion.

I'm about to go home in a couple minutes for lunch so if you want to shoot me a pm I will e-mail it to you.

i too think this looks like a pilot's badge or an air force logo...the red white and blue theme isn't doing much to help it...(shouldn't a phoenix be all red/orange/yellow firey?)

i also think the text is hard to read, but if you filled it in with a lighter color it might work...

personally i would scrap the Delta (or was that AA?) pilot's wings

The name of the company is BLUE phoenix so I can't make it orange and red. Any color scheme can be changed it's just the shape that most important to me. The reason why it's blue phoenix is because blue flame is hotter than red flame

here is a pic of the delta wings

The blue pheonix idea is good. How about a more fiery blue pheonix? Maybe a pheonix symbol that is rising from a blue flame?

yea...yours still looks like delta wings...even got the blue triangle...

if you tried to make that sucker gold i bet they could sue you man...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I concur with most everything that has been said in regards to the 'pilot wing' look of the phoenix, the colors used, and the unreadable font.
