The blue pheonix idea is good. How about a more fiery blue pheonix? Maybe a pheonix symbol that is rising from a blue flame?

When my designer gets me some more samples I will post them so you guys can take a look. he's also going to be the one printing the business cards out for me so he trying to make one that will work with that as well. More than likely the gradiants will not be included in the design.

here goes a blue phoenix:

i like the silouette (sp?) style for a logo...

I can't see it

Also Marty Martin I checked out you website and I loved this logo although I don't know how easy it would be to put on a card but it's great

I agree with what has been said so far. To me it looks more like an eagle (in particular a Native American drawing of an eagle), not a phoenix. I would really like to see wider, more defined wings and some how incorporate the bird rising from fire.

These are just the images that should be conveyed, it doesn't mean it has to be a literal drawing of a phoenix in fire. But symbols/images that go with the idea of a bird that rises from the ashes of a fire.

I would probably go away from the gradient idea (costs more to print anyway) and stick to more solid, bold colors. Really drive the blue home and just accent it with a second color for detail.

And, of course, change the font...or at least the colors in the font so it is easier to read.

Hope this helps,
Larry

P.S. Terry that picture is classic.... I love it!

Yes it does; but it's just a thought

I didnt feel like creating a 'Firebird'. If Silver's Graphic Artist is skilly he can make one

Well, what you created is better than anything I could do....so I have to stick to analyzing what I can speak intelligently about

Heh heh... it does look like a seagull.

Good work, John. It's a nice, clean look that still has a modern feel and is much more hip than the original. I also like the 'implied' blue flame background.

haha, i get that tripod thing all the time. but for how much it comes up, has anyone ever actually gone to tripod.com? i haven't.
