Favorite LOGOs

Golden Boy I just got back home and checked out the thread and I swear when I saw the second logo the first thing out of my mouth was whoa !. That's a great looking concept. Nice work !

Seriously, though, I kinda liked the logo as it stood on your avatar. Yeah, I suppose it's got a dated look, but I immediately got the red trim on the wings suggesting an immanent flaming. As it gets bigger I like it less, but I think it has some appeal from associations with air force.

Once someone said the word "transformers", though, I had to jump ship. Heh heh.
 
I would definitely say it needs a bit of "re-vamping" and I like the concepts of a firey look. Perhaps you could do an orange-ish/red phoenix with a blue outline, or I like the idea of it rising from blue flames.
That's me.
 
i wanna see a version of the second one where you can see the phoneix's head...i think the profile of the beak really hammers it home...

I completely agree. You put the head in there some how and you have a solid graphic that is awesome. Nice work goldenboy.
 
I actually disagree...I think it is perfect as it is. It's symbolizm and I think it would actually take away from the image if the head were added.

How about just the beak poking out of the top of the faded circle. C'mon! That would look sweet.

$20 says, the guy who built that lego aircraft carrier, doesn't have a girlfriend. Who's in?
 
HA! LOL :) Forgot about that. But your Lego creation was much smaller and only took a few hours, right? We've all done that before. But that aircraft carrier took months to build. If he has a girlfriend he sure did neglect her for a while. :)

Larry you hit it right on the head! No pun intended, lol. The whole idea was create a logo that symbolizes a phoenix protecting it's egg. My reason for not adding the phoenix head was to add a touch of mystery cause the phoenix is a mythical creature and I would assume that there's not a lot that's known about the creature. That was my motivation while making the logo, but I will make a version with the head included.
