Fantastic Panasonic GH2 video

My favorite frame from Emmanuel's video. I love that the old woman is in the background of this shot. :-)

Ipads don't do flash- shame on Apple. My outdated Nokia N800 even does flash....

How you doing Kholi? It feels like it's been awhile since I've seen you around.

Emmanuel Pampur, has been asked if he did a comparison of the images from the Alexa, red mx and the GH2, He said yes and that he will talk about it later on his blog. He also said that the 12-75 zoom is coming from Panasonic at photokina. Do remember that he was one of the guys from the group including Barry and philip Bloom that went to Japan. Another thing he said is that they had lobbied Panasonic for the 25p mode for Pal model and that the info taken seriously by Panasonic.
 
I was also blown away by this clip. Granted, the guy has tons of experience and obviously lots of talent though. I can only hope that I can extract some of this quality out of my camera. I'm planning on getting out this weekend and playing around with it so we'll see how much of it is hardware and how much is user.

Je n’en ai pas reparlé depuis longtemps mais Panasonic devrait sortir un zoom 12/75 f:2,5/3,3 je ne sais pas quand mais on en a parlé à la Photokina.

It tranlate as, I know I did not talk about it for some time but Panasonic is going to take out 12/75 f:2,5/3,3 I don't know when but we talked about it at Photokina (September 2010)

You have to take into account that he also used indirectly the set lighting they used for the shoot out between the RED and Alexa. So in part it will look better than just shooting, that is why I said it was a semi run and gun from my original post. For me it is no problem because it shows the true potential of the camera with at least a minimum care (using at least a reflector) which is how I intend to shoot. Happy shooting to you, hope to see some of it shortly, I am still waiting when it will be (pal version) available online.

Yes, exactly. That's not to take away from the great work, but highlights the issue of good lighting.

Pappas! I've been good. My ghastly attendance is due to the feature film, but I've got a few days "off" so to speak so I'm just catching up on all the geek-speak.

I probably won't be purchasing an AF100, I'd like to use one soon, however!

Yes thinking a bit more why I really like this video is that it is the first one we see proper planning and set lighting with a human being. It tells a lot, on how good the gh2 can be for narrative, music videos, advertising, etc. What I plan to shoot with it and the gh2 passes with shinning colours. It also shows how good it can be in a run and gun reportage style in the backstage shots.
 
Emmanuel just responded to someone and said that he found that the dynamic range to be astonishing even better than the 5D. These are his word, I don' t know good you can take the 5D as a yardstick for dynamic range. Here it is seen as being in the 8 stop, on other place some put it higher than 10!!!

i can see here that some of you likes my little video ... i'm so happy thx a lot !
of course this video is nice because i used the buetiful light made by matthieu misiraca for the fake ad we shot with ARRI Alexa and RED One MX.
I Confirm the nostalgic mode and no grading.
This GH2 is the most incredible "Photocam" i had ever used !
If you have some questions, my english is not very good but i can try to gives you some answers.
