The red is more of a cinemastyle camera, not a run n gun camera as much as the F3. Also, a big deal would be that the Red has no built in ND filters, that adds extra hussle to have a mattebox and switching ND filters while running around and trying not to get them dirty. The F3 have really sweet internal ND filters that you easily switch on and off.
Sure the Red beats the F3 with the 5k image and a lot more space for CC in post, but I don't think that it would be the right thing for you and I doubt that the Red would give you that more and the end of the day when doing spontanious run n gun.
Yes I know color space and dynamic range are two different things, my point is I don't agree with Admir that the RED One has more space than the F3 w. SLOG to work with in post.
You have more room because the codec Is just so much better. And the extra resolution also helps when doing secondaries.

Sorry guys, the f3 does not record uncompressed 10bit 444.
The original post mentioned an S-log F3.
I'm pretty sure I read a post by Barry Green regarding REDcode not coming close to 4:4:4, maybe i'm mistaken. Please note, I love REDcode, I just think people overrate RAW as the be all, end all format.
Even S-log / 4:2:2 / 10bit would grade very aggressively.
First off the ability to be built out with sturdier rails and the mounting options (the monitor can be put pretty much anywhere, as can the viewfinder, etc. That's the statement I questioned. How is the Red leaps and bounds ahead of the F3 for an AC point of view?
