POSTER: To be added

LOGLINE: Big Al Higgins wants his package in Coquille, and he wants it by sunrise. A journey through the west, the metaphysical, and a fat man's belly.

Casting: June 12th and 13th // Shooting: June 26th and June 27th, with re-shoots TBD. To be shot on: 5D

Is it possible to ask people on the board to review the script. I'd love to hear thoughts about it before we shoot, but I don't know if that violates rules of the fest. If it doesn't , PM me, and I'll send it on over if you're interested.

Thanks and good luck to everyone!
Welcome to the Fest!

I believe it's no problem to get feedback on the script. In fact, some people have gone so far as to post them online before.

Ok sweet, thanks. Just my second go around, and I'm giving myself a lot more time to do this one, so fingers crossed. Can't wait to see your short. Your screen grabs look awesome, and your last two films (for Monster and Betrayal) have been really good.

Welcome to the fest! I like a good 'deliver the package' type movie, they can be very intense. Journey through a fat man's belly? I'm officially intrigued. While I don't have a big history here yet, I'd be happy to look at the script and offer my input (for what it's worth). Regardless, good luck and keep us posted!

Thank you for the welcome Troy. Thanks 4100xpb for the offer. I'd love to send the script to you. Should have a draft ready to send out early next week.

Plot sounds good.

An indication of time (by sunrise)

A point of no return (he wants it)

So this could become something very good.

Thanks, trying to make sure the conception of the plot is executed well. And nope, not shooting in Coquille. Wish I had the budget to shoot out in Oregon. I go out there a couple times a years to visit relatives, but nope, we're getting some good dense woods to film in the midwest for the finale as a substitute.

The close-to final draft of the script will be finished tonight, so if people wanna read it, let me know (PM or do it on the board).

It's been a crazy shoot, but everything moved along ok. From actors dropping out the day of shooting, to me coming down with some awful sickness a week before the shoot, the project seemed doomed, but we pulled thru! Hope everyone enjoys!

Hey not sure if you're Dan or David or both so hey to you both. I'm Anthony.

This is my kind of short. I was confused, thrilled and compelled to find out what's coming next. Okay, the wig bugged me but that was about it. The decision to go no music was a good one in this. I loved all the characters and the mystery macguffin box. Great work. I even thought the poster had a unique but old school feel. Like I said, my kind of short.

Mcguffin luvin. I can't put my finger on it, but I loved this short. The bad guy did a great job. The indian dude was funny. It all worked on some level. Good Job.

One of the best character ensembles of the fest. Each one was unique, colorful and a lot of fun to watch. Really appreciated the non-political-correctness on the whole, and the dark humor. While I was watching it, I kept wondering who the hell the protagonist was - who I was supposed to be following - but by the end it didn't bother me too much. I have no idea what I took away from the experience, but I know I enjoyed it.

Anthony, thanks for your feedback, it's Dan. Glad you dug it, it was a ton of fun to write, shoot, and edit. Very very happy it translated for your viewing too. We actually had music written, but every place where it would swell, we had to remove due to time. It ended up making sense to have music altogether. The poster, I used the poster for Shane (http://www.vintageposters.com/catalog/al12.htm) as a template and added the elements of our movie to it.

Chris, thank you, really happy you enjoyed it. Bruce did a heck of a job becoming a stone-cold Indian with comic timing.

Thank you! The actors who we ended up with were fantastic and added a ton to their parts. We got lucky they all were available. Very happy you enjoyed the experience. Thank you all for taking the time to comment. Got my movies downloading last night (have a slow connection, can't do streaming), so I look forward to starting to watch everyone's tonite.
