Exposure control after live view is disabled.

For example get into live view, click AE-L on my bike pedal, record, exit live view, point my camera around to see if it would skew the exposure and then when I wanted to get into live view again I looked in the viewfinder and focused the (exposure circle?) on my pedal and switched back into live view without moving the circle from my pedal and I got the same exposure.

I hope it helps.

Click AE-L on my bike pedal ?

Skew the exposure ?

Focusing the exposure circle !?

I am not sure what your post means, but if you are ever in London can you give me the number of your dealer. :)

Sorry if it is confusing. I was using my bike pedal as an example. It could be anything.

Very confusing ! :)

But I think I understand your idea.

Point your camera at something that gives you a good exposure. Lock it with AE lock.

Then later when you want to get that same exposure all you have to do it frame up the very same scene and then lock the AE again.

Should work find for some situations indoors quite well.

You could also load up a series of grey scale JPEGs onto your iPhone/iPod (if you have an iPhone/iPod touch) - that vary in intensity from light to dark - Choose the image that gives you a good exposure (for instance scroll to the 45% grey card) place the iPhone over the lens and lock.
