I sincerely hope they chose to be competetive with similar rigs currently on the market. If they lean toward the $4000 direction, I think they will shut out a large part of the potential market and that would be very unfortunate for the little guys. Granted, we'll just have to wait and see how many of us can participate.robstar1 said:Hi folks:
I'll try to clear up as many questions as I can based on what I know but nothing is in stone on this yet.
They want to begin sales at NAB
The price could be around $2500 but could vary considerably so don't get your panties in a wad about it. For the quality of the shots, the manufacturing and the comfort compared to handholding the Merlin, it's easily worth $4000 and could very well sell for that. Again... TBD.................
The vest is thin and light enough to wear under a modified Tux or jacket if you wanted or needed...........

Thank you Robert, your input is welcome!robstar1 said:I tried to fly the Steadicam Flyer on the new arm and vest the second day but in the current configuration it would not. The Flyer was set up with a XL1 and PowerCube battery so it was a bit too heavy.

Regarding the vest, thin is good. Can you describe any more of how the back is constructed? , any pics available?
Any idea if they are committed to the velcro closures or are snap clips a possiblity?
many thanks for contributing Robert,

Sounds like you had a blast. Thanks for the in depth review.
I can't wait to try the arm myself, it's going to rock for event coverage like weddings.
