Quick question, bgundu: Where did you purchase that nice looking rig your camera is mounted on?

It's the Cinevate Simplis with a few add-ons and the handles flipped up. The bar across the top is from Juiced Link.

Great vid seb and thanks for putting the comparison with the Oly 12mm. Two questions as I'm just about to pull the plug and pick up a GH2: you mention the vignetting due to using a 62mm ND with a 58mm step up ring, how would using a larger (72 or 77) filter cut that? Wouldn't the problem be the step up ring? I have no idea as I have never used these rings before. Second, would the Noktor 12mm be doable on a glidecam as it has only manual focus?

+1

I am considering getting this lens for my af 100 and would love to use it on my stabilizer. It does seems so shallow that it could cause an issue in this instance.

This lens is great for steadicam work as the focus to infinity starts at 3 meters. I'll show an example shortly.

How come I can't find this lens for sale anywhere? not even on the SLR Magic website, unless im blind...

Oh okay, if that's the case then good. Because I thought I really missed out on this lens

Has there been an adjustment to the expected release date in the US? Would love to be able to save a few hundred dollars by picking this lens up instead of the Oly 12mm f2.

I have been chatting back and forth with Andrew. The lens should have arrived today but they had issues with UPS, so it's being shipped out tomorrow and then it will be arriving on the 27th. I would suggest that people contact them cause this is going to be a huge seller. It'll be like the .95 Nokton... it'll be really hard to find. I've been waiting for a lens like this for a while. The Tokina 11-16 is nice but I'd like something faster. The olympus is interesting and I'll probably get that as well, but at 500 bucks shipped, that's a hell of a deal.

I do also love this forum and people like Bob and Serge and others who share their knowledge and of course it all comes from the Top down and there's not a more decent and upstanding person on the planet, than Barry Green. I'll be happy to shoot some stuff for you guys and I'll post it when I get back from NH.

ALSO>>> in new news Andrew said that they are planning on releasing a lens hood that allows use of 77mm filters and all without vignetting. So I ended up buying some step up rings for the interim and bought a few 77mm filters, including a cheap Fader. I have a nice 62mm fader, but I'm going to go cheap and see if it's passable...
