Here's a Video shot with the T2i, I was hanging with some friends and I had my camera with me so we decided to shoot a Video... There wasnt that much light but it was good enough to shoot.

I used the Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 Lens, my 1st video with this camera so please leave feed back on the video please and let me know what you think. Edited and directed by me

It's looks fairly decent to me,. I have never shoot with a 50mm but I plan too this weekend for a wedding. Keep doing what you doing.

So should i take the fairly decent as a good thing? lol but thanks for the feedback, I will only get better. Practice makes perfect.

Excellent? Think about it, what did you really do here? a 5+ minute song with people crowded in front of the camera and basically no b roll story line or anything. You need to work a lot harder if you think your going to make it in this industry, A LOT harder.

You're fairly new here, so maybe you haven't quite figured out that stuff like this doesn't fly too well around DVXUser. We have all skill levels and all levels of professional/amateur/hobbyist. There are some people who are in it for the love of making pictures, and may not even be aiming to "make it in this industry."

And that's a pretty bold statement, by the way, for some one who is still taking classes on this stuff and isn't yet officially "in this industry."

Give the guy some credit. So it may not be an award-winning video. How about some constructive criticism? "I liked how you _________, but I think ______ could have been done differently. You might try _________ instead." That's why people post work here and ask for feedback: not to be insulted, but to help themselves improve.

I think a part of why life4eva responded like that is cuz the OP labelled the thread "excellent"...i could be wrong. Anyway for real life4eva, its not really accepted here so chill and leave something constructive. To the OP...just post your work...let us the viewer call it "excellent" or whatever...cuz you were asking for trouble with that title. Moving on...

to the video...even if htere is no Broll story. mix up the shots. theres one shot size and thats medium. Yes u do have a 50mm alone, but u can back up to get more shot sizes. Angles...use more angles and props...eg the street, sidewalk, cars, light posts, chain link fences, lights from
passing traffic and bokeh in the background from the lights. even faking it and making someone pass in a car with the lights in the back blurred. Use the strength of the lens whihc is its shallow DOF and put these guys in front of something that will look good in that blur.

other thing. def try to get more light....car light...anything. :)

Exactly, now to c2v you need to seriously relax and not worry about what I post and go and tell me whats frowned upon or liked. I have seen MANY MANY users on here say far worst. First of all I am not sugar coating nothing nor did I say anything to insult anyone.

If someone says their video is excellent which by school standards mean "Perfect" then that is how your viewers will judge you. Now no you don't need b-roll or a story line for Music Videos but at least give the viewers some angles, different locations and some creative camera movement.

The only people who blow things out of proportion are people who are scared to be told the truth. Yes the video quality looks nice but what do you have after that? A very close framed Video and on top of that it was frame cropped to 2.35 or even more which in my opinion does not look good.

This is how I feel about this "Excellent" project and while it has potential there is still a lot of room to grow. FOr myself or for anyone you do not need to have work to judge something as a fan because that is how I am looking at it.

well im already in the industry, and have been touring with major artist for the last 2 years and im only 22. like I stated if you read the video description, This video was done out of boredom, wasnt any post production, I had my camera with me and my friends were like hey lets shoot a video... and that was the only Lens I had on me at the time and I was shot in the Projects and there wasnt much light.... But thanks for the feedback, and I put excellent just so people can watch it! thanks to the guy cv2, its cool tho i love criticism and feedback, of course I never went to school for any of this I just started messing with sony vegas and FC this past year and a half and I think I came along way already.. But I will get bett

Seems like your "friend" is borrowing ideas and not giving proper respect to original directors who did things before him. Also while the video was alright I really did not like it. If you want to continue this further do it through private messages as there's no need for it here.
