Hey all

I went to Paris for a week at the end of May, during my stay we took a two day trip up to Amsterdam - I had two p2 cards with me and a borrowed Powerbook - all went well , here's some imagery from the trip, all which will be on motionzone soon! I chose the song Crazy because it was literally playing every 15 minutes on the radio stations while we were there..

Awesome work as usual. Great imagery along with the sassy editing. Your clips are the ones I save to show people HVX footage. Look forward to your next one.

richard.... Fantastic stuff there. love the dashes of style. That still back and forth transition looked sweet... How did you pull that off? Love the CC.. That green boat deck and the tweeked out skies/grass... Love that possibilities with the cam for final output. Did you use the 3 way corrector in FCP?


Awesome stock footage. HVXguy is gonna get loaded up. Sounds like a sweet trip. Any horror stories...? And next time, would it be 1 week in Amsterdamn and 2 days in Paris?

Thanks Justyn - What still back and forth transition are you talking about? I didn't use any stills in the piece - Are you talking about the streets signs where it bounces back and forth? -yeah I used the 3 way color corrector primarily, one or two magic bullets - i really like the 3 way and how far you can push the camera , it's so much nicer than any SD cam I've used .. - We'ren't any horror stories - well, the day that I flew in there was this really long line to buy a ticket for the train into paris - I hopped it instead and landed myself with a $60 fine - ouch - haha then I missed my flight coming back into the states because of Amsterdam - other than that it was an awesome trip - I have a few more clips that I'll put up later - I wish I shot more but the weather was pretty unpredictable - overall I captured almost 2 hours worth of footage, all stored on my g-raid

Well okay, maybe not.. SHEESH, that was some pretty sick footage dude.. I had a smile on my face the entire time..

The images just melded perfectly with your music and edit..

Please post some specs on your shooting modes/shutter speeds/auto/manual settings..

Did you edit it in Amsterdam too?:thumbsup: I bet Amsterdam was a swell time, you guys must have experienced a lot of "burning agriculture".

Well I shot about 70% in 720 24PN mode and the other was spent in 1080 24P land - I did some 60P stuff here and there but mainly kept to 24PN to save space - having two 4 GB cards was awesome - I only own one p2 card but a friend helped out - i shot in full manual mode - using the built in LCD (i'm sick of that thing though and desperately crave a marshall) - settings usually were cine_like D gamma with my master ped at -3 - i tried to shoot as flat of an image as possible so i could tweak in post - More than half of the days spent over there, however, were covered in clouds - very overcast, so I had a lot of blown out skies - I kept the shutter usually at 1/60, sometimes 1/250 when the sun came out - thanks!


Amsterdam is amazing - I love the people, I love the scenary, the art and the agriculture very much - I've been to Amsterdam twice and have found myself lost on both occasions, literally and mentally -

Yeah Amsterdam is a really fun place I have only been there once and would give anything to go back.
 
Was the crazy fella in the fountain also the crazy fella on rollerblades? Or is everyone a little carazy in Amsterdam?

Great footage, catchy edit and catchy music.

....so nice. I love Paris. I've been several times and just can't get enough of it. Thanks for flashbacks....DAMN YOU! Now I wanna go back with MY camera.......:angry::)

StMad, both fountain's and roller's fella are in Paris, I think (Saint Michel fountain's, no ?). But it can be seen in Amsterdam too :) ah Amsterdam... :thumbup:
 
Wow, what a talent! Richard it is shooters like you that will put our little website on the map! I need to find a way to feature your little movies and tag it with your info. I cannot wait to see the footage.
I just returned from a little family trip and have a small backlog.
But we are getting in some interesting stuff.
 
Thats impressive, in such a short time aquiering 2 hours of great footage like this. I must say I feel a bit funny, I was just in south west France for two weeks with the plane to create a traveling progame. Well we will see wat becomes of it. Having a HVX200 thought would have bin mighty nice. Thanks for the inspiring work.

Don't worry a lot of people are going to feel funny. If you could see all the HVX footage on our site in it's HD glory.....
I keep wanting to cut a demo but I keep getting such great footage
it's hard to start. Hopefully I won't need to cut demos if I keep getting footage like this in.

I think with what is on the site, what is at my ISP, what I have here and what I know I am getting....

Looks like I need to relegate all the HDV footage to it's own spot??
Man, I have not seen any of the HDV footage I have look this awesome!!!!

Next week my wife is doing a mini-trialthon and I plan to shoot that.
I will show her this europe footage and I am sure she will start in with the I never take her anywhere, maybe if I pay for the trip she might let me take my HVX??
