Error: Running out of Memory

Alright. I am just going to throw this out there and anyone who knows what they are talking about, feel free to correct or contradict me.

For the most part, I have primarily transcoded (NeoScene) to a a folder on my desktop (which I believe is on the C drive) and added files to Vegas from there. This process has almost always rewarded me with the "low memory error" using MBL on Vegas 32 bit (even on 5 to 10 minute projects).

Recently I clicked on "my computer" and noticed the D (data) drive empty with 465GB available. I moved my video files to the D drive and deleted them from the C. I added the files from the D drive to the time line.
I was working on a 20 minute project (just family stuff) and thought I would see what would happen. I added MBL to the entire time line and rendered. To my surprise, the entire video rendered to completion. I watched it and it worked fine.

Now this is only one instance. It may or may not be relevant. Just thought I would mention it since I had some success.

Good Luck,

Doug

Well Doug, i have a separate drive for my video footage and still get the error and i too use Cineform Neoscene.

I think it depends on the amount of diffuse glows and such in MBL.

ok..I got it to work on a 9 minute clip. Here is what works. Just take you raw clip. After you have converted it with neoscene. Make sure you start a NEW project. Drop it in the timeline..do your FX with MBL and then render. Do not edit..do not save. If you save it first..then you might be screwed. Then drop the rendered clip back in the time line for editng. So basically you are making a intermediate file to edit with that has allready been graded with MBL.
Why this works..I dont know. But if you edit then save..you will get the mem error everytime.

lol..this is getting to be a funny thing, im srry, but why should we put with all these bugs..im thinking very serious now to moving on to a new NLE..and like Derk i also have my files on a different drive and still get this error..by the way for some reson the lossles uncompressed avi will render 1 min clips, but the regular uncompressed codec will give me errors even with 1 min clip..lol

...and why won't Red Giant come out with a 64 bit MBL?

They have. It's for Adobe CS5. Vegas probably constitutes a minuscule market for them. They have to take care of their major markets first. Avid and FCP are still 32 bit releases, but I am sure both are working on 64bit releases behind the scenes, and Red Giant is probably working with them.
