FEATURE: Epitaph: Bread and Salt Feature film

Sorry the film has stalled guys. I'm moving again so who knows when it will get back on track. Some good news though, Action Filmmaking is now available on Amazon Kindle if you have one. If you're new to digital filmmaking this could help a lot.

Wow!

Why are you moving.

This looks like a awesome independent effort. Looking forward to seeing this finished product. This looks like a work of pure love.

That's the thing with Indie films. If possible, it's best not to draw them out over a long period of time. Actors begin to lose intrest and such. That's why when we cast at the beginning, we give the cast and estimate of the shooting period (1 week-2months) that way they will know in advance. We also request that all schedule conflicts and such be listed. We know things unexpectedly arise and such, but conflicts that people are aware of in advance should be noted. That is one of the primary factors in our casting decisions.

Thanks. We're definitely trying to get it finished. I'm moving because I was only supposed to be here for a few months and the woman I'm renting from wants to move a new tenant in she can feel more financially comfortable with.

Exactly. And I wanted to start shooting this in the early summer of 2010 so it would be mostly done by now. And we were shooting about three days a week. It was hectic for an indy project.

Keep your head up Nate. From the footage/grabs you've posted you have some promising stuff.

Keep pushing.

Just here to say, we start back up with Epitaph in May. First shoot is here in the new apartment. Check that out. Also check out the trailer for JR2 Film's short "The Perfect Letter" starring myself, Jon Ross and Marissa Joy of Epitaph: Bread and Salt, co-written by me and John Rogers and shot on the Red by Brandon Riley. Check it out and be sure to like JR2 films when you get a chance. And my new book Blackrayne is out in paperback and Kindle format.

OMG! Still reeling about Final Cut Pro X! It can do 4k and I'm sure all the Red folks are happy now. (The Max Used to be 2k).

Hey everyone. Just wanted to update you. The Epitaph project has come to a stall. We're still working at it, but it could be awhile before we get back to it. But the new books are out, so go to the Night Phoenix Press Website and see what's happening. I am currently focused on drawing the "Epitaph: Abiding Lilith" comic book while the other artist works on the "Darksiders" series.

Nate, how much of the movie do you have done? I'd really like to see you finish. The longer you go, the harder it'll be to get all things back together. Things change, people move, get different jobs, work on other projects, have kids, get married, rob banks and blah, blah, blah. LOL! Anyway, I was just thinking if you were close to being finished to just knock that thing out (I know easier said than done).

I have one pivotal scene I want to knock out and I could go in another whole direction. This is the prequel to the comic series so I have a lot to work with, but I have to do this one major scene that explains everything and now I have a location (the new apartment) and all I have to do is shoot it, but I'm trying to get everyone together.

Yeah I have to agree with Marlon. It's unfortuneate that you had to stall, we were really looking foward to this. But as I said before rings true the prolonged the project, things happen. Actors withdraw, locations that are accessible presently may not be available in the future, etc things change. We are set to shoot our film this summer. Reason being a lot of the cast are high school/college and we need to finish in time so that it won't conflict with their school schedules/activities. Even if we go 1-3 weeks over in September we would still be in good shape. I have a contact at DC comics that is interested in making a comic/graphic novel series of the film. I am storyboarding the action sequences cause I have a specific idea for them. The rest of the film I can't see storyboarding for dialogue stuff and such.

I'm actually back at it on this Friday. I know you've heard this before, but we're going to do our thing.

Thanks. I tried to get them bigger but I think I should have just saved them at the original size. I may try to do that.
