FEATURE: Epitaph: Bread and Salt Feature film

Upgrading the G5 workhorse to 4gigs and maybe to 8 next month. Harddrives are working. This will be awesome.

I think the memory is what's causing the problem. The harddrives are fine according to the scans so I repaired the permissions and once I get the memory we'll see what the deal is. I'm doing 4gigs and then plan to get 4 four more to get up to 8, but if our indiegogo goes well, I'm getting a MacPro and Final Cut Pro X (and a new monitor). I'm also checking out Lightworks. When the Mac version comes out I'm going to make people aware of it. I love FCP, but I think people should know about it.

Hey everyone! I'm back! The G5 is up and running with new memory and I plan to get two more 1gig chips for it. Next years I plan to upgrade to a Mac Mini or iMac i5 or i7 (or whatever) and FCPX. But for now I want to finish cutting this film in Final Cut 6. Ironically while cutting this film I can see many of the things FCPX brings to the table would be very helpful, but I'm saving that for "Divinity." But here's some fun stills for everyone.

It felt real good to get back to editing. I love my G5. And can't wait until next year when I get my Mac Mini. (Or iMac, depending on cash flow, but I'm really excited about the mini right now). I hope to shoot some thing this weekend. And now that I have the thing up and running again I've got some footage to convert. I may do it tomorrow when I go to bed.

Got twenty minutes of the rough done. This is the longest it's ever taken me to shoot a film. Seriously.

Scenes shot last week. Greenscreen Key done in FCP, not AE.

Thanks. When they're in motion you can see some green spill so I'm trying to fix that. Here's some new ones from today. Kelsey Zukowski first scenes as Hanover Blake. These aren't greenscreen though.

For those keeping up with our indiegogo page, if you're wondering why we took down the VG20 photo, it's because we're not going with it. The next camera we buy will probably be a Canon video camera or HDSLR. We may do a Sony 3D camera, but honestly I saw some footage from the VG20 that I just didn't like, then a friend told me about a review on Cinema5D that confirmed what I saw. I was hoping it was due to youtube compression, but it wasn't. Even my HG10 is better than that when it comes to basic image capture. So I'm keeping my HG10, buying a new 35mm adapter and upgrading next year probably to an HDSLR.

As some of you know I just ordered a JAG35 adapter. This is a test to see what the light will be like before the adapter arrives. There will be a few more test afterward. This is a well lit main street I may shoot on without the adapter if it makes the footage too dark. There are no filters or color correction.
