We are targeting a family audience, but I think DVXuser's may enjoy our commercial as well :2vrolijk_08:

Science World is the centre of infotainment in Vancouver, Canada. Think of Science World as a theme park for your mind.

you never used a 7d for slowmo, just slowed it down in post instead? did you ather stuff in slowmo on your reel come from only the 5dm2?

Actually we did use the 7D for the two slow-mo shots, that being the rocket shot, and the city shot w/extras. I'm going to have to put 7D in the tags, :dankk2: for noticing and watching.

The footage in my reel is from a variety of video cameras, the 5DM2 was used in the Vouture commercial, and the above Moon Man commercial.

Awesome video. What lenses did you use to get this look?

All Canon glass:

24mm f/1.2

50mm f/1.4

100mm Macro L IS f/2.8

24-70mm L f/2.8

70-200mm L IS f/2.8

The look is not only related to the camera but also the production design, everything is blue.

I really liked it. I think it would really capture a kids imagination very well. Nice job.

Nice job. I particularly liked the shot of him walking through the crowd. Everyone seemed to be wearing muted colors while of course his suit is bright white. Production design or luck?

That would be production design. We tried to get as many blue garments as possible in front of the camera. There is also a spanish male over Moon Mans right shoulder, just as there was a spanish male over the boy's right shoulder.

On-set we called the boy, "Christoper", named after the patron saint of travel.

Nice work!

The only thing I didn't like was the skin tones.

Superflat or advanced Flat? Perhaps the saturation was a bit low?

I dunno - I just feel like it takes a lot of work to get good skin tones on Canon HDSLR's...

Neutral, color corrected... to get the skin tones to look like that. We adjusted the magenta and red saturation levels to get to that level. We had a few meetings about the skin tones, tried a few different levels of them, and made the decision to take the route you see on the screen.

Good use of production design then. I really liked that aspect of it.

When you are working with a small crew it is hard to stay focused on the details because you have so much responsibility. We filmed the spot over three days, this aloud for some time to breathe, and to focus on what was happening in front of the lens.

We also planned, and planned, and planned. Plan the shoot. Shoot the plan.
