"The Past is an Apparition"

This will be a joint contribution from myself and user "thedarkhorse10" Ive been around watching the fests for a few years now but this will be a first time entering something here for both of us. We are both really looking forward to it. We will be shooting in Minnesota, so if anyone is in the area we would love to have some help!

UP TO APRIL 16TH - First draft of script completed (written by thedarkhorse10), currently working on revisions. Location scouting started, nothing for sure as of yet. We are both really looking forward to doing this, if for no other reason other than the feedback on our finished project, but we are certainly looking to network along the way! We are both college students and won't be back in the same area for a few more weeks, but in the beginning of May we really plan to hit the ground running and get on top of this thing. It should be a lot of fun.

APRIL 21ST - We are pretty sure we have a location lined up. Pictures soon.

May 23RD - Location locked today here are some grabs....

June 4th Cast is set, crew is almost done, rehearsal on Tuesday and shooting on the 12th.

June 17th One day shoot got turned into a 3 day shoot and we've got two of them done. Only the opening scene left to shoot which shouldn't take long. Should be done over the weekend. Day one we shot in some pretty heavy rain, but it looks good. Day 2 footage also turned out really well. So far we are pretty pleased with how this is shaping up.

June 27th Rough cut finished....a lot needed to be trimmed but I think we were able to keep most of what we wanted. Now off to the composer and colorist.

Poster looks nice.

Is the color red in it "accidently" or refering to "red law" ? :p

If you need any help in sound design, don't hesitate to contact me ;-)

Brandon - I would love to have you help out but unfortunately we will be shooting in Minnesota :( who knows though maybe I'll hit you up if I have some questions or something haha.

Dre83 - I did not design the poster so I honestly couldnt tell you....I think its by accident....but lets just pretend it was planned.....

Also there is a very good chance I will be PMing you about sound design!

Yeah figured that... seriously though if you want any feedback on the edit, or script, or just have general questions, hit me up. You have my email address and phone.

ya I really like the location... it looks like what I was looking for. But I found a really cool place, good luck on your shoot.

Brain hurts, so many stories...

Best advice will be to overbook. Typically there will be a lot of no-shows. Be prepared for crazy people. I was trying to decide what my favorite audition moment was - but I'm tied between the hippie who stuck (burning) incense in the doorknob, and the guy who brought a (real) gun to audition for a mobster.

Fun times.

HAHAHA yessss I love stuff like that....but I think out in LA you see a bit more stuff along those lines than in the suburbs of Minnesota....advice nonetheless though!
