Edius Testing with Native 24p file from Firmware Hack

So Car3o posted a link on his website with w GH1 native 24p file shot with the firmware hack so I downloaded and was curious about how well it would work in Edius Neo Booster 2.5 since it doesn't handle the 60i/24p files from the GH1 correctly. So I put the native 24p file in the timeline and it played in real-time perfectly, in fact it has better real-time performance than the original GH1 files do on my computer.

Here is the link to the native 24p MTS file from the GH1 which expire in 24 hours:

Anyone else test Edius Neo Booster 2.5 or Edius 5.5 yet with native 24p GH1 files?

Another thing I want to test when I finally install the Firmware Hack is raising the audio quality in the GH1 up from the original 192kbps to 256kbps.

Well, I wouldn't mind doubling the rate to 384 but you said to limit at 256 to avoid playback problems.

It's on the first page on your first post:

"AU Audio encoding bps - encoding rate for compressed audio, 256kbps could be used without major problems."

Just tested and yep.. You're right. Better playback even on my i5 laptop I get very smooth native RT (it was smooth before, but the buffer fills fast and stays full longer for more effects!).
This is with both Booster and Edius 5.5

It is up to interpretation (256kbps will work for sure, as it was tested in that time).
This is quite old, and I think we must try 1.280.000.

Bit rate low?

Bit rate seems low, I thought we had a 30%improvement in bit rate? for better detail? OK mud still there, but for 1080p static and well controlled wouldnt this be better 24-5p native and higher bit rate?

Ok so I downloaded that clip... it looks like a blurry... out of focus.. low rez clip.. that can't be a native file.. if it is... it's a very poor example to judge anything... it looks like a blurry out of focus fuzzball on a 1920 1080p screen.

Tested in Edius Neo 2. Conversion in Canopus HQ works fine, perfect! If tester13 manages to avoid freezing of cam during playback, I'll go for it!

What is your exact playback procedure, list everything you use to playback a GH1 file.

Of course it is blurry and out of focus - but that is not the point! The point was to judge if the native 24p output works without jumps in the cadence.

I think many of us are trying to decide whether to install the native 24p patch to our camera's firmware. Looking at low quality footage isn't very confidence inspiring for that purpose. Maybe the patch gives you 1080p24 but only at very low quality levels? So I think many of us (including me) would be grateful to see some really high quality 1080p24 footage from some brave and helpful tester.

All he has to do is shoot the same shot during the day and make sure it is in focus with the ISO at 100. Possibly do a slow pan left to right and back also.
