Editing hardware, best internal hardrive brands, brands to avoid? Harddrive workflow?

Any brands you guys like for internal hardrives on mac towers?

I heard seagate is good, my last experience with maxtor was really bad, it just went out randomly, and all info lost.

Anything to keep in mind when editing hd footage from the p2?

I plan on keeping my footage on 4 different internal hard drives, working that way in final cut pro.

I dont like the internal raid 0, it slows it down too much,

and an external raid 5 would be great, but are out of my budget, I am just going to backup my project everynight after I edit,

Does this sound like a good idea, keep the media on 4 different drives?

I use almost exclusively Seagates and Hitachis.

I've purchase four Seagate 7200.11 with a 32 MB cache and routinely get 105 MB/s read write and the twice that in a soft RAID:

I'm having a great time with the Western Digital AAKS series of drives. This one is what I run my media off of and it's blazing fast for a 7200rpm drive.
