That's pretty sweet Mac. How is the tension created at the pivot point of the rod block and the aluminum bracket?

Here's a pic, it's simple and works better than anything I've seen. I'm using a Cineroid here (I prefer it for handholding because I can turn on red peaking without going into a menu) but I have rods on my Z-Finder Pro too, so I can swap them quickly.

That is so simple it's embarrassing - a 1/4" hole drilled in both pieces (handle plate and center of the rod block), countersink the plate on the camera side.
Pass a 1" (depending on the thickness of the rod block at the center) flathead bolt out through the camera plate.
Countersink the other piece (rod block) on the side facing the camera.
Thread a nylon finish washer (smaller than 1/4" ID), flat side in, onto the camera piece so that the shoulder of the washer faces out and fits into the countersink of the rod block - it doesn't have to be a perfect fit, you're creating a "bearing" surface.
Place two 1/4" nylon washers on the bolt coming through the rod block. Now you've created two nylon surfaces for the EVF rod block to swivel on. Add a steel washer.
Tighten a 1/4" nylock nut against the washers until the tension feels right (you may have to tighten or loosen when the weight of the EVF is added)... And you have smoothly rotating EVF. I've had mine like this for nearly a year and it has never needed tweaking.
Thanks for explaining. Might have to try and build one of these. I think I have some extra parts lying around the office...
Shhhhhhhh..... I'm with you on that.Yeah, well MY wife doesn't have a clue how many lenses I have either...

Why so short, Erik??? Some directors I know would get a 50 ft cable!!! :evil:I have the PNY super thin HDMI cable and its long at 16 feet but its perfect for connecting my DP6 and handing the it to the director. Now they don't hover over e and the cable is light.

I like that cable, thanks! :thumbsup:The cables uk ones are great. I have a 1 metre angled both ends:

Sits in perfectly on the back of the AF and the side of the Zacuto EVF without fouling anything.
