Not sure about the cards you are looking at but I use these Topram 64gb 600X in my C300 I have about a dozen of them and never had a problem although they do write a little slower (a couple of moments) than my sandisk extreme 60MB/s http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOPRAM-64...ther_Computing_Networking&hash=item5aef6f3000
The attractive thing is they are so cheap. I personally would not trust the batteries in my expensive C300 too frightened of them putting in wrong voltage or catching fire or failing/dying mid shot of something important.

why?

why?

why?

have you any idea how easy it is for them to counterfeit cards these days?

buy from a reputable dealer, ALWAYS

anti counterfiet socket? either he thinks youre an idiot and made it up, or he thinks your an idiot and is making it up

as for the batteries, buy from amazon, one that has lots of good reviews

You do realize you're talking about saving a few dollars over a camera which costs tens of thousands?

I heard people using knock off batteries all the time. But it was mainly for dslrs though...
It was to save some money yeah, and get an extra set of batteries or cards for the same price.
Ebay is a bad place for this stuff, yeah.

But how is Amazon any better?
$25-70 for the same battery, which costs $140 at B&H.

Guess I shouldnt bother with those either eh?

lenmar i've had good results with.

i'm using this with the C100, http://www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-...TF8&qid=1385057501&sr=8-1&keywords=wasabi+970

odd that it isn't listed on amazon canada, that company is based in cali.

for the price it's unbeatable, and the company stands behind it, i had a faulty one and they replaced it, no issues with the replacement. my policy is, always use the 3rd party batteries first and keep the original canon for last. but at 26 bucks, buy 3 of them and be over-covered

It's up to you but I wouldn't. The Canon batteries for the C300/C100 are great. Best camera battery I have ever used. Amazon is much safer to buy from if your buying OEM products. Those SanDisk cards are probably counterfeit but after market batteries are after market. Still I wouldn't buy a Canon branded battery from A Chinese seller on eBay. It's a risk.

Will it display the remaining battery life and usage time? Reviews say it doesn't.

These from Dolgin Engineering are $99 and support the remaining battery life and usage time. So if you want to save $60. this might be a good option. Meet cheap half way.

the reviews don't lie, but it does give you the old 4 bar battery indicator, after the final bar you still get a bunch of minutes of a blinking red battery of death indicator, but i usually just play it safe and swap out when it reaches the last bar, which is usually at least after 3 hours of usage.

if you have situations where you for some odd reason cannot get to a charger for many many hours, buying a bunch of these is probably the most economical way to go

ok i'm sounding too much like a salesman, i'm done

v mounts and gold mounts are great, but add weight to the svelt canon

Yeah, nothing in Canada..
So, would you say one of these would be okay? How would I display the remaining battery life? I dont see anything on the battery that would display it.

$25/ea. http://www.amazon.ca/Canon-BP-970G-...e=UTF8&qid=1385059543&sr=8-4&keywords=BP-970G
$70/ea. http://www.amazon.ca/LENMAR-LIC970G...&qid=1385059479&sr=8-3&keywords=Canon+BP-970G

How do I really know if this is acceptable for the C100/300?
And will it work with the charger provided with the camera?

I want a few batteries, I believe 4, so I can run the camera all day if needed.

No one but an owner of that specific battery could tell you that unless the manufacturer states that it does. from the photo it has the extra contacts, so probably, but not definitely.

DONT buy it! u will not be able to close the battery dour, and will have to remove the dour! only 955 model fits inside the cam with the dour closed! from my experience u need only 2-3 for the whole day.... , in fact i never used the 3rd one, and ironically my 3rd one is not original 970 battery, but its ok to have it just in case...

Hmm.. go one. What about the battery door?
Is it a problem if its removed?
I noticed the C100 doesnt have one. Which is great as it makes swapping easier. But if the C300 needs it closed, or if removing it is a problem or it looks bad, then thats another thing to consider.

no, u can remove the dour, its easy, maybe its just a personal preferences, but i prefer for it to be closed, and so that the battery do not stick out of my cam....... and i use 970 only when i have to and only on tripod...

about CF cards, i had several issues with cheap cards including transcend 32gb cf 400x udma6 - that card was giving me error every 1.5 - 2 minutes... its a pain in ass, but again the only reason i bought it, just because it was the only one available locally..... i had to wait for my SanDisk to arrive! i only use SanDisk and it never failed me, never in my life... also i would recommend Udma 7.

Sandisk CF udma 7 90Mb/s - is cheap our days, i see no reasons saving few $$, its not worth it, especially when we are talking about 15000$ camera.... seems very odd to me... 32GB = 82 mins on max quality.

I only use canon 970 batteries and the battery door hasn't been on my camera since day 1. I haven't had any problems with the door removed for the last 18 months .

i have 6 hood man 32 gig cards which have been getting intense use on a documentary I am currently shooting. Zero problems with these cards so far. One advantage to expensive and fast cards is the reduced offload time because of higher read speeds. With shot put pro and USB 3 I can offload a card to 2 drives simultaneously at speeds between 3 and 5 gigs per minute, so spending the money on fast cards does give back in terms of less time used in each offload.

Memory cards - This is the most important! The footage that you cannot recapture is in there! Buy from a good place like BH.
Batteries - I have two original batteries and one OEM, the OEM is a piece of ****! Buy only original, you will get a time indicator and that will give you the opportunity to use the battery to the max and you will not be afraid that the camera will shut down. The original battery lasts double the time in my case.
