DVXuser, you're our only hope!! Please read.

Rebel with a cause
Today I come to the Cafe (again), with my heart on my sleeve, and with the hopes some of you will get involved and help.

My little charity organization, which actually started as a DVXuser Cafe topic, has grown a lot in the past few years. Isara now has 120+ students at its free learning center in Thailand, provided more than 20 college scholarships, and given more than 2,000 helmets to students. We've also provided free housing and teaching placement to more than 100 volunteers.

Unfortunately, the growth of our charity means that our budget has tightened. For the last few years we've managed to get by with just $150-$250/month from donations/sponsors/mom & dad and the occasional karaoke marathon or online raffle. But now we need to get serious about sponsorships so that we can focus more on our projects and, hopefully, expand.

We are looking for anyone who can afford $5/month to become a sponsor. Everyone at Isara is a volunteer, so that means 100% of your money will go directly to our projects. And a little bit of money does A LOT of good over here.

If you're unfamiliar with Isara, here's a news report done last year.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRv9Fh5KuKg

By the end of the month we hope to find 10 new sponsors able to give $5/month. Believe it or not, $50/month is all we need to keep our charity's head above water so we can continue to help the less fortunate.

Here's the link to become a sponsor.

Thank you, Jarred, Jason, Barry, the Mods, and all the DVXuser members for their continued support. If you're ever in Thailand, you've got a free place to stay!!

Hey PK, are you making alot of money through ads yet? I thought so, but could see no obvious ads when browsing the site. Or maybe my brain already filters them out :D

You've got quite some visitors on your website. Maybe there are some more possibilities.

I've read something about it by accident today:

And here is a link to amazon affilates:
https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/

Maybe you know this already, but you never know :)

PK; You think just because you come back in here throwing Star Wars references around that you can fleece us for more of our hard earned money?

By the end of the month we hope to find 10 new sponsors able to give $5/month.

Right, only 7 more sign-ups needed.

- Mikko ... is just glad we didn't have to hear PK sing again.

Thank you VERY much!!!

We now have an extra $30/month, thanks to Mikko, Alec, and Martin!! I just ran into our classroom and told all our volunteers the good news. Everyone is really happy. Yesterday. one of our volunteers even said she wouldn't eat until we got a new sponsor. Fortunately, she only had to be hungry for a few hours, thanks to DVXuser.

Simon - Thanks for the tips. We tried the Google Ads for a while but stopped after Google didn't pay us one month. Despite numerous e-mails and phone calls, asking for the reason, they never explained why. They said, "Google cannot provide that information because it would reveal how our monitoring system operates." We didn't like that they could withhold our funds for any reason, at anytime, and not have to be accountable. So, out of principle, we stopped the Google Ad program.

We do have an Amazon affiliate program but we never made enough from it to make it worth the effort. But when we get some more visitors we'll start it up again.

Our web traffic keeps going up so, eventually, our projects will be paid through advertisers. But, until that day, we really appreciate the support of DVXusers.

Thanks again, everyone.

Awesome! Thanks a lot, Stephen!

Ian - Thank you for becoming a sponsor! We really appreciate your generosity. :dankk2:

I'm not sure how the tax deductions work if the charity operates outside of Australia. We are a registered non-profit in the country of Thailand but we're not registered in Australia. If you need documentation of our Thailand non-profit status I can e-mail you a PDF for your records. Let me know if it is tax deductible so we can inform future Australian donors.

For US donors; We are not yet a registered 501c3 in the US. We gave it a try the last time I was in the US but the paperwork and $750 IRS filing fee were just too much. It will most likely be next year before we can complete the registration process.

Thanks for the help and support, William. :) And thank you to Jim B. and Taylor R. for becoming sponsors too.

Stephen's topic in the Marketplace has some great stuff for sale. If there's anyone interested in a Canon 5D Mark II or some nice hard drives, go take a look.

Thanks again to all the DVXusers who have put their money where their heart is. We can't do the work we do without people like yourself.

So far, NINE DVXusers have jumped in and started sponsoring Isara! Thank you from all of us over here.

Yesterday we had more than 120+ students at our Learning Center and we told them about all the help and support they've received from DVXuser. They all said a very big (and loud) THANK YOU!!!

If there's anyone else who can afford to give $5/mo, here's the link again.

Thanks again.

Been thinking about it for a little bit, so I did some budgeting and will be starting my donation today. Keep up the great work Kirk!

Guys, I know the economy isn't the best it's ever been, but it's $5 a month, you know? That's one breakfast at Starbucks or McDonalds or wherever. It's not even a good car wash. It's not quite an appetizer at Chili's. It's less than mailing 1 DVD and 5 brochures to the next state (I actually just did that).

Thanks a lot, Mike! All of us here really appreciate it.

Hawk - Those were some good examples. Thanks. $5 can do A LOT of good. The helmets we give students cost less than $4 each. Yesterday we paid for the tuition of two students (for 5 terms) and it cost less than $100.

Thank you to everyone who has become an Isara sponsor.
