OK your right, I didn't give it a fair shake by only watching 20 seconds, so I watched the whole thing and this is what I think...
Where is the creative Cinematography? Most of the shots were locked down or plain ordinary dolly shots. There were a couple really creative shots that I liked. The shots where the camera comes in over his head coming down his body to reveal the ants/termites below, and the dolly shot where the camera was in tight and the boys face was framed out really nicely.
The opening scene with the transvestite or whatever he is looks out of place. It’s a very average middle class looking house with a van in the driveway and a front porch that is cluttered with the average Joe six pack miscellaneous crap that detracts from the visual appeal of the shot. To me it looks like they just didn’t care where they shot this scene, as long as they got it for free. To me it is very important to make things visually unordinary, because that is what makes it interesting to watch. They should have moved the van and cleaned up the front porch for better lines. I personally would not have used that house or porch at all. If however he was in a run down trailer park he would look a lot better IMO.
As far as the pacing on the song on the action she depicted in the video they match up quite nicely and the mood of the song is right on with the images. I find that slow songs like this really have to be enjoyable to listen to in order to appreciate the music video. I found it very un-enjoyable listening to this song. I thought it was off pitch and in general quite horrible. In order to give an honest opinion I watched this not once all the way through, but 3x…Cringe. If I was to separate the video from the song I would enjoy the visuals more.
The music video has no real color palette to tie it all together. It’s very abstract which makes it hard to watch. It hurts my brain. In contrast I really enjoyed your piece Seattle Nights (http://www.dvxuser.com/V3/showthread.php?t=41566) because even though it was really slow the visuals were excellent and the music created the perfect mood for the cinematography.
An example of a slow song with the most basic visuals that really work is Cold Play's "Yellow".

The song is super slow and the video in my opinion is excellent in its simplicity.
“and don't let yourself be influenced by Monte, but let yourself be influenced by me! ;-)”
LOL, I am influenced by my own intuition. I am not the type to jump off a bridge just because the person in front of me did. I develop my own perspective on things, and my opinion is just that…and opinion. I am glad that people like this music video. Differing taste is what makes everyone unique. I don’t try to actively influence anyone, but I get inspired by other peoples work, and if I inspire people that see my work...great.
“did you see "Me and You and Everyone We know"? please tell me you liked it!! I have hope for you “
Yeah, I really liked it!
In conclusion I really hate one liner replies, and I don't think it was fair for monte or anyone to say you don't like someone's work and then not tell us why. This forum is great in the fact that it allows us to all give each other input and make our work better, and constructive criticism turns into just criticism without an explanation.
Peace…

The video was well done; I enjoyed it if even a bit too much of the same thing. I thought the idea fun and unique but the execution was average; too much of the same thing for too long.
Still; one of the morer original music vidoes I have seen in a while. I'd look for more work from the artist for sure (The filmmaker not the band)
