dvx, bmx dolly

it looked cool
did yo do the dolly shots just on your bike? i always tried that but i am no good at riding with one hand, even real slow.
the colors were pretty vibrant too

most of the shots are done with a homemade dolly and then the others are done with a skateboard following him

That was done real well. Filming BMX is my life so I'm going to be picky about this one, I am sorry.

I'd say the dolly was a bit overused, but if you was just shooting with it a lot to get experience, that's fine, but if it was a whole part filmed with 75% dolly/steadicam shots it'd get annoying to watch.

Also, the one shot where he 180's over the rail, then the dolly comes to a stop and he comes back into frame, it'd be better to cut to a different angle since U Turn lines as they are referred to aren't the most visually appealing shots to watch.

But aside that the footage itself looked incredible. Did you use an adapter, since the shallow DOF towards the end looked incredible.

i dont have any pics of the dolly, but its real simple its just like every other homemade dolly, pvc pipe, ply wood and skateboard wheels.

this was just 2 weeks of footy and i did just build the dolly so have being using it alot to get experience

i used no adapter for any of the footage, did a little cc in fcp but not much

i've been thinking about making a dolly, but it seems really cumbersome to carry around spot to spot

xyouthx, im guessing you didnt like "that's it" either? if i remember, that had a whole lot of dolly as well, but was easily one of the best videos that came out last year
