The HVX200 is the only camera under $14,000 that records in 4:2:2.
The DVX100B records 4:1:1.
You could get a modified "Andromeda" DVX that can output 4:4:4, but those are few and far between, quite rare, and the workflow is far more complex.
S-video is not a high-quality video transfer system. It's better than composite, but the color is all blended together in one blob rather than being separated out like component. So no, you're not going to get high-res 4:2:2 out of the s-video output. You'll get about 400 lines of resolution (vs. 540 from the firewire) and it's color-under color, so it's not discrete like component (which is what the DVX outputs through firewire, is component video).i heard you can get 4:2:2 from the dvx if you transfer through an s-video cable with a capture card i dont know all that much about it can anybody tell me a little more about it
I really know that you can record in uncompress format using the notebook
but i foget software name... may be search by "Serious magic ***"
