DVrack activation bug!

ok, so it is actually a representation of what I'd like
yellow dude being SoftCrap, Green dude being a pissed
off customer assaulting Sofc Crap's owner...

Disclaimer: I will never do such thing, even if they disserve it!

I did send them one of the most unprofessional e-mails I was
ever proud of sending though :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

huh? i got a question

huh? i got a question

DV Rack is fine and dandy for my stuff, capture, calibrate monitor and i was impressed with it so far.

I have no problem opening my files in premiere and editin 1080i or 720p capture files, my problem comes when i want to use the original captured files in After Effects like i do in premiere and then my codec goes crappy and says i don't recognize the files.

Did anyone figured out to install the codec so both premiere and after effects works with DV Rack?

thanks
Paul

Nevermind, now for some strange reason, it works .. ahh the joy of software and comps .. it's enough to make you go bonkers sometimes :)

I installed DV Rack on Vista on two machines. Activated no problem but followed the process of ensuring all updates were downloading before activiting.

Also, for Vista make sure you disable Aero (via Personalize in Computer Panel - select "Windows Standard" for instance) and make sure your Display Adapter (in Device Manager) Driver is up to date for Vista. I had to download directly from Intel for my integrated Chipset because the Dell driver did not support DV Rack 2.0. Once I did this, perfect capture via HD Rack

Guess I'm in the sucker-club as well. Can't start DV rack no more. Got to start it once after a successfull, albeit very cumbersome activation. Now I can't get past the activation screen. This happened in the middle of a production, and caused all kinds of hell.

Things like this is like the most infuriating stuff ever... RAGE!

Well anyhow. I just wanted to add my name (or my nick if you will) to the list in case Serious Magic should find this thread.

they won't as they don't exist anymore Adobe would have to and they don't care enough... hope you can fix it without as much trouble as I had to go though

I do not advocate such things under normal circumstances, but given the problems that everyone is having with Softwrap, might I suggest that there are various tools floating around the Net that disable Softwrap DRM/activation.

If you do a Google search for "softwrap crack" or "softwrap de-DRM" or something like that, you should be able to find them.

I called Adobe Tech Support. The guy actually apologized that we had to deal with Softwrap. He gave me their support 800 number, and the Softwrap folks were very polite, but 1) I had to call at 4:30am because they're in the UK, and 2) they had to send me an e-mail of instructions to fix the license activation. At least its fixed now.

Adobe needs to fix this.

I don't expect to see Softcrap rear its ugly head again in future versions after the current debacle. Adobe has their own (and maybe equally despised) protection code that I would expect them to use in the future.

^ agreed

hey... just so you know... you have several support people.... most don't care.... all are horribly trained... I'd say the best advice is to keep trying with different techs...

good luck... let me know if you do organize the suit.... lol..... no, seriously
