DuelAdapter requires reboot with 10.5.2?

I just picked up my new MBP tonight, which I'm rather ecstatic about but regardless the Duel Adapter is only picked up only after a reboot, is there any known fix for this? I've read around and I don't get much... I see it works for some but not for all... The speed I save over firewire justifies a reboot anyway, but none the less it's still a pain.

Running a MBP with OS 10.4.11 and do not need to reboot if I remove and re-plug in the dual adapter.

It used to crash the whole computer if I tried to remove and re-plug in but now it's almost bulletproof.

Don't know if a Mac update helped??? But it works better now.
