I downloaded the drivers for 10.4.9 off of their webpage and plugged the adapter in . . . it did not mount and both imes I got the black screen coming down telling me that osx quit . . . anybody out there had this problem? I don't really want to keep plugging it in as I may be frying the p2 or doing something that I am not aware of. . . I am going to fire up the hvx and test the p2 right now . . . please help.

did you install the drivers after you downloaded them? Because what you are describing is what happens if they aren't installed.

Right.

Install the drivers without the card plug in.

Reboot.

Repair permissions.

Reboot.

Wait a ten seconds or more,

plug card in.

Is there a thread where this dual adapter for mac procedure is lined out in exact order?
Like:
Step 1... here is where you get the drivers
Step 2.... do this
Step 3... Etc, etc.

I find bits and pieces and different touble shoots in searches but, is there a clear one step by step I haven't found?

That is an excellent question and the most confounding aspect of duel-systems approach to this. I believe the answer is no, there is no step by step process posted by duel or Panasonic. I have never seen such a ridiculous approach to getting a device to work by a company. I have an adapter and have never used it because I have no faith in them because they basically want me to be a beta tester. They obviously rushed this out for some cash flow to come in.
Anyone who is having a problem should give them a ring and tell them your issues. Maybe it'll kick them into action.

Thanks for the replies . . . Yes, I installed the drivers. I am just getting back to the computer to try and work it all out. I will let you know.

Yesterday on a MBP LED with 10.4.10 installed:

Repair permissions
Installed the Intel Panasonic driver and the AJ-PCD20 driver.

Did not install any duel systems driver.

Rebooted

1. Repaired permissions
2. Plugged in the adapter.
3. Plugged in the 16 Gb p2 card which immediately mounted

Copied 12 Gbs of data in 2x RT
