Anyone having issues getting the Dual Systems Adapter to work on new MacBookPros with pre-installed Leopard or MacBookPros with fresh copies of Leopard (not upgraded from 10.4x)? We've got 10 of these cables on different machines and none of them will work on laptops with a fresh copy of Leopard (10.5.1). I contacted a few friends at Panasonic and they are seeing the same issue. The adapters work fine under XP and Tiger 10.4x. or they work with Leopard systems upgraded from 10.4x which means the older driver is more than likely still active.
I've exchanged several emails with Dual Systems and they said,
"We have already determined that the DuelAdapter works in other systems. Also, Apple implented the software for the DuelAdapter into Leopard themselves. So if you are having issues with the DuelAdapter, in a Leopard system, but you are not having issues with a Tiger system, then by isolating the issue and process of general elimination, the problem resides with Apple. You need to contact them if you need to get their operating system to recognize a product that is supposed to be fully and automatically recognized. I do apologize for this incovenience, but they are the best suited people for troubleshooting their own product. RYAN in support "
Do they really think Apple will care with the adapter works or not? How do they plan to sell to any new Dual Adapter cables to new Mac laptop customers. I would think they would be screaming right about now.
Lets just look how fast Apple has responded to Quicktime 7.4 issues - NOT -
