I can't believe this thread is still going on. It's gotten kinda wondrous.
The answer, always, should be: wear whatever you want that won't get you kicked out. People can tell when you're uncomfortable in your own skin, and trying to roleplay some part by dressing up does exactly that. So be comfortable. Me, I'm comfortable in a suit that looks like it's out of There Will Be Blood. Maybe it makes me look silly. I don't really care. Like Jack said, I'll be really surprised if there's any big-time Hollywood deals being made. I've been to lots of these "industry screenings" and there's rarely business being done, honestly. Have fun. Meet some people. It's worth more in the long run anyway.

...A nice suit would work I am sure Nick. Though I would maybe go with a more trendy shirt and tie if that's what you are considering. You can defenitely add some accented color to the combination and make a pretty nifty get-up. The sport coat can help with that image as well and also draw more attention to the shirt. But it sounds as if you are going without. Either way, I am sure you will be fine.

To nick, the wash isn't all that matters to make it work. I am a fan of medium to darker washes, I would tend to stay away from the solid color carpenter jeans. You can take a look at some of the designers I mentioned to get a better idea...
If you have an Express Men, just go in and approach the closest sales girl and say that you need a shirt for a party in Hollywood for the premiere of you film.
She'll hook you up with a shirt, AND you'll have a date when you get back from LaLaLand.
Omg, that IS genius! After reading Jack's post, I was just gonna say screw it and wear jeans and a t-shirt (that's how I roll), but now I have date potential! If you have an Express Men, just go in and approach the closest sales girl and say that you need a shirt for a party in Hollywood for the premiere of your film.

...And I'm now torn between laziness and comfort (jeans and t-shirt) and desparate metro (jeans and Express shirt from hot sales girl). What do I do?!

This is a genius plan, by the way, Gage.
Jeeeez, am I the only one that would wear a tuxedo?

Are Guess jeans semi-fashionable?
A friend just got them and thinks they look good. No. They do not. He got laughed out of his own July 4th party.
