If Barry_S chooses to elaborate, that's his field. I'll just say that we have very few rules, but we require films to obey all of them. Some films didn't. Whether it was running time, or file size, or eric/erica, or copyright infringement, all rules must be adhered to. Those that did not comply with all the rules were disqualified from prize contention.

Let me put it another way: what's the point of having a rule if you're not going to enforce it?
 
I just opened up 18 Seconds again and they did totally blow off the "Eric or Erica" rule. lol, there was only one rule in this fest and they totally ignored it. Stupid too, they could have easily added the credits making the girl Erica and the guy Eric.
 
Or I was thinking just a little nameplate sign on the office desk saying Eric Whacker or something like that. All great films in the top 4 there. Gives me something to strive for. I love inspiration and motivation. I am not too excited about spyfest but I will think of something out of the box....I hope. Congrats winners!
 
Yeah have to agree Shawn. 18 seconds wasnt the best short IMO, but seriously the editing blew the others away, and I think by a country mile.

Congrats to all the winners and to everyone who entered. Was a very enjoyable fest.

Edit: wanted to add - when I say not the best short, I meant only in this fest, its a good short.

When I checked earlier tonight for the results, I realized that I had no idea of what to expect... Even though it wasn’t until ‘Horrorfest’ that I finally took the initiative to make a film, I have seen every single film produced through the DVXuser fests. I feel that this fest turned out some of the best films the fests have ever seen. There were an incredible amount of great stories all told in unique, artistic methods. A lot of films made me think, made me wonder and made me care for a character or an ideal. I’m honored to be amongst them and to be a part of the fest.

Thank you to the DVXuser community, all the mods, all the members! You’ve made this an incredible place to communicate knowledge and visions. Thanks to Barry, Jarred, Mikko, Jason, Larry for coordinating everything, Tom from Varizoom for sponsoring the fest and all the mods & members who lent bandwidth for all the films!

Congrats to Norm and Finnian! :) :)

Here, here! Thanks to all the mods, and all the generous bandwidth donors (Yay, Mikko!), Barry_S, and Jarred, and all of the people that work so hard to make these fests happen for all of us! You rock, Geoff! Although I'm ultra-embarrassed to admit it, I missed the voting deadline (SORRY!!!), but I'm generally quite pleased (and a bit surprised, happily so) with how the awards panned out!
 
Congrats to all. Been a great fest. We gotta do this again sometime.....oh wait we are....
