it does make a little bit of sound, it's normal, but it's not much.

Just got mine a few days ago, two weeks earlier than they told me to expect it. Was a pleasant suprise to say the least! And this thing is so solid, it'll last forever.
Zaza, I know you mentioned yours didn't make any sound when you slid the carriage, did you have to do anything special to get it that way? I loosened the carriage bolts and aligned the bearings but there is still a noticible dragging sound from the bearings sliding on the rail. Any ideas?
Thanks for helping me find it Zaza! Planning to order the stuff next week.
....
All you have to do then is run to the hardware store and get a 3/8" 16 thread tap (and a tap handle), a 5/16 metal drill bit & a 3/8" hex head bolt (you'll have to figure out the length you need, I think mine was about an inch long)
....
Anyone working on a hand crank version ?
So guys, is there anyone outthere, from germany, austria or switzerland who can give me the right translation for all this stuff above?
• Zaza, isn't there potential for accidental rotation of the track on the tripod (unscrewing)? AND– Anybody know how to have that joint rotate but not unscrew?
• Travel: Anyone have the perfect cozy carrying-case for our tracks? Am I stupid for thinking I'll carry mine on a plane next week, stowing it in the overhead? It's only about 33" long, but still.
Thank you for this inspirational thread.
Here's my motorized version of the "Zaza" slider:

I'm afraid my small stepping motor will not move the huge video heads and cameras shown here but it works fine with my Canon HF100.
Anyone taken their track onboard a plane? (Musicians can get away with long guitars and basses in the overhead. But I can just hear the security argument now: long hunk of metal = weapon.)
Martin nice, what is the inchpound rating on the motor?
hmm, that would be strong enough to pull an hvx on wheels, but i don't think its strong enough to pull it on the slider, whats its rpm at .62?
Thank you for this inspirational thread.
