This looks great! Has any one made a How to video. I know it all seems simple. But might be cool.

I really like your feet, they look very nice. The nicest DIY I've seen for feet actually. I also see you have threaded a new hole ( not an existing hole that came on the Igus rail )
I got my rail the other day, and I can't believe anyone would even try to thread one of the pre-made holes with so little material to actually thread. I would never trust a $700 camcorder or a $200 DSLR with a $2000 lens on that,, no thanks.
Very very nice job you did on this.
The hex screws - where did you buy these ? and did you thread the ends yourself ? ( I don't know if I could do this myself with a hand drill ) would need to take it to a machine shop I think.
Your feet look like wood, at first I thought they were some sort of pressed plastic, but now I'm guessing paint wood. Good job.
If you start selling this kit, I think there would be a few buyers.
The ends are pretty easy to thread but you don't use a drill, you should tap by hand and turn approx 1/2 a turn clockwise to cut some thread, then half a turn anti-clockwise to clear the tap a little - keep going until you've threaded enough.
so to clarify, you did not drill a hole first in the end, you only used your tap
to do the 'drilling" and the threading at the same time ?
Great job, so for the feet, I guess you drew out a nice pattern for the feet and cut them out, using what ? a jig saw ? .... I may have to try this. I don't want to spend more than $20 on feet.
The track comes with holes in already, well at least mine did...
Yup, cut them with a jigsaw. Then put them together and went over with a sander to make sure they were both the same. I put rubber washers on first, they're repair parts for taps (faucets over there?) very cheap. The plywood was an offcut I had laying around anyway - so very cheap!![]()
To clarify, you had holes at the ENDS ? of your rail ?, I just checked mine and there are no holes. I'm talking about the ends... not on the top of the rail.....
Thanks for the info on the ends, sounds like a good project to try out.![]()
