From saying that he need the camera fast to finishing that he and his wife are out of town. I trusted the guy and sent his the camera. His argument was that the camera was not there even though it was delivered. I don't care that he stole the camera because it was my fault by not getting more info about him. His phone number doesn't accept incoming calls. Just be carefull when dealing with that guy . Peace. Let see what he has to sa yor maybe not.

Hey all -
I have sent several e-mails warning about Digital Dan, some private, some public. This guy is not to be trusted and is dangerous! Tried to buy a camera from him outside Fort Meyers FL and he tried to get me to meet on a deserted freeway exit. Stay away from him and DO NOT TRUST no matter how good his "deal" seems to be! He also posts by the name "Digitial Dan" also (notice the extra i in Digital).
 
If anyone needs IP info etc.. ill be more than happy to give it to the police as requested.

I called St. Petersburg Police department at (727) 893-7780. Could not get farther than the dispatcher. She said anyone who has been ripped off on the internet needs to file a complaint with their LOCAL police department. Sounds to me like a total pass the buck! St. Petersburg? - BOOO HISSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
 
My dad works for a company that makes software locating where a person is really sending an email from. For example, on ebay if someone says they are selling a DVX out of New York, he can figure out if they are actually sending emails from Romania. Maybe I could do some research.
 
Ok guys here goes...I am going to say the same thing that I told Mrjad. Read the post he did on "did I get shafted?" I told Mrjad to not jump to conclusions and trash someone's name before all the facts were on the table. Because he was trashing someone's name. And sure enough, I was right. The gentleman came thru - and Mrjad pm'd me and said thanks. But it was too late for the name trashing. But it goes to show that there are two sides to every story. I don't know who digital dan is but it sounds like you all should exhaust every avenue before name trashing.

Having an expensive camera sent to you and avoiding the sellers phone calls? I don't smell extenuating circumstances. I smell horseshit. This has happened to more than 1 person, bro. Get real. The world is full of thieving assholes.

I will deffinately check this adress in St.Petersburg when I visit my cousin in Tampa . I wonder if Mike Daley is his real name though. So is there anything we can do . I guess that when I get that adress and name clear guy will loose his teeth for those cameras.
 
Seriously this guy deserves WHATEVER he gets stealing from people who rely on cash and equipment sometimes for their income to support a family. WTF is wrong with people honestly. Im so glad Jarred is such a great guy and will follow through with this. Awesome.

I've talked to this guy on the phone and have his number. I think his name is Mike. He was the original buyer of my MAC G5, but the deal fell through. mrjad picked up my MAC after my dealings with digital dan and he got a great deal.
 
A couple of years ago I was scammed by someone selling a high-end amateur (ham) radiio on ebay. We were able to get his address and phone number and email address ... did a netwide search on him ... found out he was in the Baltimore fire service.. We called the PD in his town and got nowhere until we got to a detective who told us how to proceed: he said to email/call the rat and leave a message to call Detective XXX at YYPD. Then we called the FBI in Baltimore and asked to speak to someone about interstate/internet crime. Got a field agent's name and number. Emailed the guy and told him to expect a call from FBI Agent ZZZ. Then we called the Baltimore Fire Department and tracked him down to his firehouse. Called the chief there and told him what happened. Lo and behold the SOB was right there at work with his mates and the chief put us ON THE SPEAKERPHONE. We got to tell the story right in front of his co-workers. Apparently a couple of firefighters had been ripped off "mysteriously", including one chap who collected expensive model trains .. .. and who later found that his trains had been sold on ebay. Bing/bang/boom, we got our money back and the thief got a solid dose of humiliation and a public loss of faith ... things that matter when you are in the fire service. We also found out that he had emptied his parents' ATM account out, claiming that their card was stolen. I guess it's in a thief's blood. Anyway, get law enforcement names and numbers and then blanket the criminal's emails/home message machine with them ... esp the FBI. It scares them to death. GL.
