T2i did I make a mistake over the GH1?

Seems like people here never shot film. Film is not sharp and has a soft natural look to it, hence the reason I love the image these Canons produce. Panasonic delivers a sharper image which is similar to video which I hate.

You people need to watch some movies sometimes and understand "sharpness" isn't always better.

We're not talking about softness compared to the one on 35mm movies (i watch them everyday maybe!) cause even if they're "soft" they have DETAILS. The canon image is just... badly upscaled which is different to my eyes than just soft

yes, DETAILS is the magic word... All the EOS defender show me very good and nice soft and glow closeup shootings of very beatiful women... without details!
Here in Italy, I'm sure that Berlusconi like EOS video image...

Guys, you're not wrong. It's well known that the "HD" image in the DSLR isn't all that sharp, it's at best about 720p worth of real detail, and the rest is aliasing and false detail.

The DSLR is a thousand bucks. There's compromises. That's just the way it is, and shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone.

Well the hacked GH1 was a surprise and it definitely doesn't fall into the average DSLR quality, if I had money to spend on various cameras I would get the hacked GH1 right away but as I said my only option here is to get the best of out my 550d and hope for a t3i with the appropriate downscaling
