Dec 1st Status Check

Thanks, that's quite a compliment coming from you. I'm certainly excited to see your short for this one--I'm afraid to see what you can pull off WITHOUT a category 5 hurricane in tow. If I pull mine off, it will be a goddamned miracle. I gotta dump one girlfriend, move her crap outta my apartment, avoid any fatal stab wounds, get another girlfriend back, light the goddamned Golden Globes, get my brakes fixed and get my tires fixed on MY car, then fix whatever's wrong with my ex-girlfriend's car and drive it four million miles to her house, blah, blah, blah . . .

Plus, I can't shoot frame one on my short yet, since I don't have my camera yet.
LOL-NBC you have more girlfriend problems than anyone I've ever met. Especially around dvxuser film festival time.

Dude

I saw you sold your DVX -- please tell me you are not waiting for an HVX ... even if you could shoot and edit in a day I think you'd be outta luck for this contest

Wow... this thread has turned into a girlfriend issues thread. LOL
well few other outside forces can affect the status of your shoot so greatly, eitther adversely or positivly like GF issues can :cheesy:, especially when you are the production manager, writer, DP, director, editor, etc.

when they are bringing you sandwiches on set because they believe in you and support your work then nothing is finer or gives more of a pick me up  When you have to deal with 2 - 6 hours of drama after a 12-15 hour shoot before you do it all again the next day, well then nothing is more draining :thumbdown

No, I was TRYING to sell it. I couldn't find a local buyer so it's still sitting in my room. I was waiting for the HVX, but I knew that I probably wouldn't get it in time. I'm trying to get my friend to buy me the DSR450.

Use the DVX NBCShooter!

Status Report: 2nd shoot is tomorrow night. We will be shooting the entire "wraparound". Working with a really good actor, who happens to be my boss. Excited about it!

Whew...

Shooting is complete! Did L.A. scenes, and St. Louis scenes... 5 locations in two states in three days... BrianV is finished capturing and is editing now, with color correction, sound, and Brian moving halfway across the U.S. to my backdoor in L.A. before the deadline. Still a long way off, but I can smell the finish line.

Good luck all,

Yeah, I might have to use my DVX. Shot some tests with my DVX Xmas morning and I'm pretty happy with how they look. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have the time to do the short I've just written--I really like it, so I wanna do it right. Too bad, since it fits the sci-fi genre so perfectly. I've gotta think of something else that I can do in just a weekend, given my impending January month of hell.

News flash! I need someone's help on a visual effect I'm doing. It's killin' me right now!!! It's a simple effect (I think). Anyone willing to check it out? Thanks in advance!

The original idea that we had has grown into something bigger so we are not going to submit as a team this time around so we can develope the story and plan better. I started something small just to have something but its going to be home movie I think. Maybe I will be able to pull something out of my butt that wont be so bad.

If it's compositing I might be able to help -- if it's CG there's no way, though.
