Hey, guys. So, I entered the userfest for Halloween, but I just didn't have the time to finish my film. I finally finished it, so check it out and let me know what you think. Subscribe to our channel if you like the film, because we're also about to release Bad To The Jones as a web series! Thanks.

Very cool bro! Nice cinematography, it really feels post apoc. I like the little twist at the end.

Agreed.

Love the look and flow to this short. Very sharp! Everything, the cinematography, acting, VFX, all top notch.
Left me wanting to see more.

Sweet grading as well. Really nice work!

PS - That poster kicks ass!

Cheers!

I really liked it.

Sometimes post apoc movies can be too over the top, but you did a great job at making it feel realistic. Well done!

Visuals didn't work for me. Overblown everything doesn't fit in my mind with a virus. And the composites we way too abstract. That coupled with the modern well-kept buildings in the background and I was just never transported to a post-apocalyptic world. The poster looks great, but I didn't see anything like it at all in the short.

I liked the sound design.

Thanks, Matt. Your feeback is always welcome. Glad you liked it.

Thanks, Mike. Yeah, I'm really diggin' the poster and the funny thing is, it didn't take me very long to put it together. I'm getting better at PS I guess. Maybe if I can finally birth my baby, Bad To The Jones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okTd1CIkluk at the beginning of the year, you'll see more of this.

I really liked it.

Thanks, Alex. I really wanted it to be realistic and I had to really think about that, so the fact that you noticed and appreciated it makes me feel like I did my job.

Thanks for the feeback, Chris. Sorry the visuals didn't work, but the only thing you found any good here was the sound design? I think you're right on about some of the modern buildings. I definitely thought about that and was going add some elements, but in the end I just didn't have time. I also really didn't think anyone would notice, but since you did I might have to go back to the drawing board. Nothing should be overblown though. If it is, there's a problem. I looked at it on my CPU and it looked like youtube had added some kind of filter to brighten it up, but when I asked a couple of friends how it looked on their CPUs they said it looked fine. Maybe I'll put a version up on vimeo as well. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Good or bad it's all important.

The film is sound, visuals, and story. The visual didn't work for me, and if they don't work, the story for something like this follows suit.

That's a nice little project. I mean, visually it was very stylized, so whether people do or don't like it, you definitely made choices. I'm cool with it. Personally I liked a lot of the close up shots of details/items mixed with the still wides like that slow track in with the jacked up floorboards. Nice work.

Thanks Johnny. I appreciate it! This was more an experimental/practice piece more than anything, but I really like how it turned out, plus I learned a few things.

cool film, loved the line about the air" be can not have it" Also loved the poster as well, nice work man!!

Thanks, man! I wanted the audience to feel the VO, so I'm glad that you did. Glad you liked the poster too.

FYI - I got a new score for the film from fellow dvxuser Matt Harris and he did a fantastic job! I'll be releasing Deadland with his new touch on it hopefully in the next day or two. Matt also designed another poster that I'll be sharing as well. Shout out to Matt for all of his help and hard work!

I liked it.

Sorry to miss it. It flew under the radar for me.

Be sure to check out my new film's trailer...blackhats...the link is in the blackhats thread.

I liked it, though I agree with the sentiment of the majority of the shots being overexposed. IMO it's not a good look, but even with a captivating story it's all good. I dig it!

I liked it alot. I thought the cinemetography flow was good and the story was on point.

Was it over exposed or was that some kind of effect. I'm talking about the ending - "in the field" shots. Because before that it was great. I can understand the buildings, especially because you established the run down building at the beginning. You could always add some wrecked buildings by using some videocopilot tricks.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. Was wondering when you'd get back on that horse.

I'm happy to be a part of this Marlon and hope you expand it into a feature or webisodes!

I'm seriously thinking about it. There's so many ways it can go. Thanks again for all your help! Greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Martin. I plan to still work out a few of the kinks as soon as I can get some time. ARRGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!

Saw the new trailer, looks really pro! When's it coming down the pipe??

Thanks, Mark. Yeah, youtube somehow brightened up the whole thing. I've since changed the link and added Matt Harris' score, so check it now and see if you get the same results. Thanks for checking it out though. Feedback is always important.

Yeah, there's a few more things I can do to it, but time is a killer. I'm trying to get these promos out for the launch of our youtube channel. I hope to go back and fix a couple of things. And yep, I'm back full speed ahead! What's going on with you?

Oh, make sure to check out our new promo. Share and subscribe!

Great promo! Looks and sounds very good. Nice work. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thanks, Mike. We're trying to get this channel up and running. Wish me luck!

I don't know if I mentioned this earlier, but I'll also be uploading a new poster that Matt Harris designed for me for Deadland. I just have to remember to do it when I get home. Lol. The only time I'm on dvxuser is when I'm at work and I don't have access to it here.

Time is a Killer, but this is what will separate you from the pack. So a little extra effort can get your hits up and maybe get you out of your 9to5. But like I said thumbs up from me.

I'm actually hoping to get some sci-fi stuff done this year, one being post-apocolyptic so. So any advice you can pass on from your knoeledge base please let me know. Good luck on the Youtube Channel
