Re: DeadKidz

wow guys this is nuts. for the pst 2 days ive had to keep paying for bandwidth. Its my fault for posting a 120meg video. so ive been out drinking with everyone today was the last day of our film fest so hopefully Ill get to all the questions. The steadi shots are from a..... steadi cam. the blank edge you see is from the anamorphic adapter it might of been a little off. You wouldn't see it on a monitor title safe would of cut it out. The sound was done in logic platinum 6 there were about 90 tracks it was pretty intenese. all the dialouge was recorded with wireless mics. We got real lucky with sound the whole project was real geurilla. Every shot was color corrected. The hunting stuff was adjusted the most crushed blacks and slightly desaturated. Thanks again for all the complimants (spelling?). So it was dvx100 not dvx100a obviously one of them conisdering the site we are on. I thinki i got them all here is a link for some production stills if your interested. I'm loosing it iright now have to ge backt o itlater.

Re: DeadKidz

Hi Jesse, great work.

Now it's time for my questions! :-)

How did you get the slow motion so smooth with the 24p footage. This seems to be a big problem for me. Don't tell me, was it Twixtor?

And the music. Some of the ambient stuff in the film sounded great. Was this stock music?

And what was use for a NLE.

Thanks! Great stuff.

Re: DeadKidz

More questions Jesse...mostly about your crew. You guys look like your a bunch of crazy bastards. Who, or what is Deadkidz, and why do you advertize women's pantie drawers on your homepage? And, just out of curiosity, what do you guys do for a living that you can afford all this high technology?

Re: DeadKidz

Very,Very impressive! I really liked the steadicam shots, and the editing was also top notch. I'm now in the "Ok I'm gonna get off my ass and shoot that short" mode after seeing this one.

Question: In the shot where you guys are running through the woods and one of you jumps down the embankment, the next shot of you getting up has that "saving private ryan" look to it. Was that a happy acident or was that deliberate and if it was how did you do it!

Again, Impressive guys.

Wow. The actual "Steadicam" brand, or a similar product? (Aren't those very, very expensive?) I'd really like to know, because it looks fantastic.

Re: DeadKidz

Yeah, I was very curious as to what exact model steadicam you guys used, if you could be so kind. :)

And also perhaps what LCD monitor you were using? I presume you used the ana adapter and had to output to that 16:9 LCD?

thanks

Re: DeadKidz

Jesse,

Great work man. I saw the pictures and my rig is almost exactly the same as yours. I just don't have a steadicam.

Your a talented dude man, with mad editing skillz, keep it up.

Re: DeadKidz

great job guys!

jesse what shutter speed while running through the woods, guns blazing? where'd you get the guns?

Re: DeadKidz

Field Theory is great.... I actually was compiled to sit and watch the whole thing.. unlike many other shorts..

Question.. In some of those of the character walking in the streets, the sky was terribly overblown. Was that the best the cam could have done? 'cause it'd be like the scene before that would look great.. then all of the sudden you cut to a scene with a blown sky and that whole film look you fooled my brain into just totally went away..

Re: DeadKidz

Just finished watching Field Theory. The acting, the camerawork, the editing, the flow of the plot, it's all great. Very well done.

I'm a little bit confused on the story, though. The whole sequence at the end, the quick edits showing the two main characters, what were you trying to say with it? It definetly looked very cool with the music and everything, but it felt as if it were missing an underlying meaning or message. The character of the kid who wanted to shoot the bear in general is sort of fuzzy. I'm not really sure who he is, what he's doing, etc. The other one was very well developed, though (the voice-overs were a nice touch).

So, what I'm asking is, what was the real point of the ending as it fit in the story? Am I just missing something? Please explain.
