D90 one minute horror flick

Did we break any rules with the camera positioning and juxtaposing?
 
The only rule i see broken so far is the title of the thread including the name of the hardware being used :P

That is one intense apple bite..

the black dude is a good actor!
 
not bad, short and sweet, seemed the intros were a little long around 20 seconds which was 1/4th of your total run time.

Other than that coo, what did you do the effects with?
 
Thanks for the encouragement. I agree, it is odd to have such a long intro, but end so quickly. Good eye.

We did the effects in AE CS4. As you can see we just sped up the footage as the doors naturally closed. The girls held their expressions to reduce the tell tale signs. Then we added a shake(to the whole image) and fake blood splats.

The color correction was done by my classmate. He used some program called "Looks"-something, I can't remember.

Haha, I am so used to forums being about gear, it slipped in there. I will avoid that next time. It's a good rule.
 
Don't understand why people can't mention the camera they used to shoot a film. Should be allowed but only discussion about the equipment in relation to a particular film.

Cool look and noir type shooting. I just don't think the ending makes any sense at all. You can see the doors closing and not crushing the girls, then all of a sudden blood comes out. Kind of weird.

i think he was reffering to the fact that you mention it in the thread title not that you mention it (you should always mention it, but in the body).

Also you should mention the title of the work in the thread title as well.
 
Thanks jonE5, for clearing that up. ;)

A note on the video: For the establishing wide shot as the girl walks up to the elevator, I use a 50mm lens and went way back. I tried using the 15mm up closer, but it just made the girl look real tall and the elevator door too small. In the context of the video, it seemed more pertinent to have the door look as imposing as it can.

That Dude, was phenomenal! His name is Arthur Newton. I am trying to get his name in the credits.

Really, really liked it. The sound was just so much fun. Colors were good.

And yeah, the guy in the car is going to be a HUGE, HUGE star!
