So im not using a 7d or t2i, im using a redrock m2 but this seemed like the best place to ask about lenses.

Has anyone heard anything about CPC phase 2 lenes? It seems they are made for nikon and are similar to pentax lenses, making them legit. ive found 80-200 f4 cpc phase 2 from 10 bucks to 100 bucks on ebay, what can you tell me?

I don't know anything about the CPC 2 lenses, but I did look at them on Ebay. For the money, I would look at the Vivitar Series 1 70-210 3.5. It's a great lens and you can find them on Ebay with Nikon, Pentax, OM and CY which are all easily adaptable to the EOS mount. I don't know what type of mount your Redrock uses, but the Vivitar Series 1 lenses can be found for $50-100.

CPC Phase 2 is nothing special, one of many 3rd party labels in the 80's.

I have a 200mm f3.3 CPC Phase 2 lens, OM mount. Bought it cheap. I do remember looking closely at a few still shots and noting more distortion at the edges and perhaps even some light falloff as compared to my Olympus prime lenses. Olympus lenses are so cheap and fairly plentiful I do not think this is the place to try and save a few dollars. Granted Olympus does not make a fast 200, but they do make a 180 f2.8.

That being said, any manual F-stop ring lens from the 80's will be a step up than a non iris adjustable lens on say the AF-100.

Mine was Made In Japan. 3.3-16
