Yes, great short!! Tried searching for the thread and couldn't find it. Great work Clint, very creative.
 
I've seen this type of short going on 4 times. However, this is definitely the best one I've seen so you executed well where other's have failed. Lots of little nuances. The Indian playing an Indian was pretty funny.
 
Yeah, I really enjoyed this one. The first reveal was great, and I loved the Indian Indian - reminded me of The Fall. Definitely enjoyed this one.
 
Gem of the fest for me so far. I loved that you made the reveal early as apposed to trying to trick everyone. That gave you so many more options. Technically it had some flaws, focus, wind noise, etc.. But overall this one just worked for me. Very nice work. Loved the music as well.

Clint, Really cool concept. I really loved the literal translation of 'Indian'. That used to boggle my mind as a kid, never understood why there were definitions of the same word! That really hit home personally for me. The overall concept was really inventive and quirky. I enjoyed it very much. Great job.
 
Okay, well I guess my thread has become the official one for the film. That's kinda funny. So here's my thoughts:

I really enjoyed it! It's a concept I've seen before, but I still managed to be caught by surprise by the twist.

The different color looks from the close up of the macho guy to the wider shots (around a minute ten in) took me out of it slightly. Some slight color correction could fix that.

Some of the focus searching was slightly annoying as well.

But overall it was a really cute, fun film. Really brought a smile to my face. The score was fabulous as well. Great work!
 
I thought this was a gem as well. There were some really funny parts in here, especially when the cowboy and Indian were running and then the cowboy chickened out. Hilarious! I really liked the concept and honestly, when I played as a kid, that's how it was and the toys were freakin' real to me, MAN! Glad the kid left the table and saved the day. Technically you could improve the sound some and make some tighter cuts on the editing, but other than that, you've really got an enjoyable piece!
 
This was a cute family friendly short. I second Richard that the kid reveal would've been better left to the end. Give us a big ah-ha moment. Good Job.
 
I come down on MAH's side concerning the reveal. You had almost lost my interest then you let me in on what was going on and I was right back on board. Good job, it was a fun ride.

Agreed. I've seen this type of short before where the reveal is left to the end and it always comes off as a little cheap to me.
This was great! You let us in and then we were able to have moments like... "Come on, kid. Hurry up! That Indian needs your help!"

It opened up an entirely new direction to go in when telling this sort of story.

I loved that about it. The other way has been done to death.

That was great...fun ride. I too liked the early reveal.
Acting worked nicely and the overall look really fit the content.
Very enjoyable film.

Congratulations to all involved!
 
Good fun. It was just plain funny at times and that's not easy to do. The actors all did a fine job, but especially the indian and the cowboy.

I also have to agree, the early reveal was the way to to go. I felt like, oh man I've seen this before, but with still more film to go, I was pulled back into the story. Good work.
 
Really fun and enjoyable short with some very good performances. I liked the concept and there was some good timing here. No complaints. It was a lot of fun!
 
Thanks for all the great comments! And for all the things that bugged people, I completely agree. They bugged me too. A few things that I learned on this project were:

1. GET A DEDICATED SOUND PERSON!

2. Get another person to pull focus or shoot at least f8. Because shooting at f1.2 while keeping focus AND directing your actors is damn near impossible.

3. Take as much time as you need to get what you want. As independent filmmakers, we have that luxury. If things are rushed, the audience may not see it, but they can still feel it.

4. Always have a backup plan even if you are certain you won't need it. Because you will.

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there's more. Thanks again for the awesome comments. This is a wonderful community for filmmaking!
 
Nice idea - really seen from a child's eyes. Children often play with toys that normally not matching together. I like and enjoyed this one.
