Corrupt file...I'm not sure

So I shot some footage on my hvx 720p 24pn and gave it to my friend to edit. He has a New Powerbook Laptop and is running fcp 6.0

I have a powerbook g4 and am running fcp 6.0.1

When we play the clips in his final cut pro he is getting these weird digital drop outs. Like a line through different parts of the frame that goes about halfway through the screen in random order throughout all the footage.

I play the same clip on my comp and nothing. I may have saw one minor line like that, but it could be I was straining my eyes to find something.

In Quicktime the clips play fine on both our comps. So its not his monitor.

We exported a quicktime self contained movie of one of the clips off his comp and out of his fcp and there was still something still there although it was far less severe when we played it in quicktime...but it seems his fcp is doing something? Is there something up with fcp 6.0?

Is the clips just corrupted and if so....is that a card issue or a camera issue?

how do we get to the bottom of this?

what other tests should i do or how can I figure this out?

A couple of questions. There aren't any "new Powerbook laptops."

Are you referring to a MacBook Pro instead?

What version of QuickTime is on his machine, and which one is on your?

And why haven't both of us you updated to 6.0.2?

Your footage isn't corrupted and there's nothing wrong with your camera or your card. More likely there's something to do with his computer -- perhaps he has the footage stored on an external firewire drive? If so, people have had this problem and solved it by using a new firewire cable between the computer and the drive, so try that.

yes the footage is fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is something to do with his computer...i will try the firewire idea...that is interesting...kind of freaked me out for a second...but the footage worked fine on 2 other computers...so it is something to do with his computer...thank you guys for the great feedback
