USLatinContent said:Hey Kholi... I am looking into a Phase cooler that OCZ is developing... it is said to come out for ~$300!!! And it just might keep the Q6600 at -20C! That would mean you could get much higher completely stable OC out of your 775 chips...
I know it is crazy, but it will work with all your chips... and you and I can both sell out CPU coolers for about 90% what we payed for them... And 4-core natieves will be 775's, as well as 8-cores, I am not saying I will get it... but I am looking at it...
Apparently Q6600's OC to 3.2 right now... I am sorry if I mis-lead you in the past, but I was confused thinking since it is essentially two E6600 put together that it would OC similarly... but 3.2 is about as much as you will probably get... of course since you are in 64-bit world already that means your computer will "only" be about as fast as a 10+ GHz single core! ...so go cry in a corner... LOL!!! I am looking more and more into the Q6600 now, so if I see anything else I'll make sure and post...
With -20C a 3.6GHz OC is very likely... that's what I'm reading so far... more to come on this "curious look" at the Phase cooling way...

Since you're familiar with the OC forums: Can you OC a dual core E6600 to 3-3.5GZ without much trouble on say, a DS3 board? I'm just wondering what would be "safe" with stock cooling.
Thanks for your help.

hi I am new here, I do own an Ultra X myself and actually I had doubts about the gap between the black heatsink and heatpipes couple months ago, I called Enzotech, according to the Enzotech staff, they intentionally leave a gap between the black heatsink and heatpipes, because too much contact will prevent the heat transfer to the top fins and make the heat trapped in the black heatsink. That will greatly reduce the performance of the cooler. I have come across this http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=132855 seems like one of the guy in there is tweaking and playing around with that trying to obtain the optimum cooling result.USLatinContent said:What I mean is that that black heatsink doesn't have a good contact with the pipes and core block, so for it to work more effectively you would want it to have a good contact with the block and pipes... This is one of the main designs for CPU coolers where the fan blows air downwards through the main radiator, this design was taken a touch further by some of the companies by adding little heatsinks to take advantage of the existing airflow and adding surface area. Artic Silver between the pipes and small black HS would shave an extra degree (maybe two) from the core.
