Anyone use a Taylor Hobson lens on a 7D? specifically a 9mm? I'm looking for some old glass and wondering how these lenses workon the 7D. What kind of adapter would I need?

That 9mm is a 16mm format lens and will not cover the S35 sensor in your 7D.

Wow, thank you for the heads up. So basically, just look for only old lenses that are PL mount

No, 35mm format lenses.

I've seen Oct-19 mounts and PL mount adapters for the 7D/5D.

Both 16mm and 35mm format lenses come with PL, Oct-19, BNC, BNCR, Arri standard mounts to name a few.
You just need to be able to discern which lenses are for 35mm before you buy.

OK great. I started to think it over though and may just fall back for now. The adapter alone is $400.
