Then I should be okay, perfect. So it would come to the decision if the articulating screen is worth 450.- more (here). I know there are some other improvements like ISO, water-level, body, etc. But it seems still a tad much. But the white-balance issue with the 550D is a big bummer.

I mean this seriously, have you considered the GH2 that is coming out in November? I've been comparing the 60D and the GH2 and if I were purchasing between them, I'd have to go with the GH2.

Well there is the 25p issue on the GH2, you are correct 
As for the lenses, given all my Nikkor's have Iris control, you could use a passive adapter on the m4/3 and use the lenses manually.
There is an electronic adapter in the works from Birger but I've not heard when it will be available.
Having spent so much time with Canon sensors, I am really disappointed with the 60D not bringing a newer generation sensor. The rainbow patterns drive me crazy. I love my 7D, but I've lost so much footage to aliasing/moire it really gets frustrating.
The initial word is that whatever footage from the GH2 so far is as good or better than the GH13 hack, which to me is MUCH cleaner than the Canon. However, from a low light perspective, which I think the 7D shines, I am not sure how the GH2 behaves. No testing done yet available to the public as these were still just prototypes.

What do you mean? In terms of cropping? This really depends on *your* frame of reference.
If you are used to the Nikon APS-C size, which is a little bigger than Canon's implementation, you'll get a little more cropping than I will expect coming from the Canon size, but really I don't think it is too bad.
If you are used to FF35, well, it will be a big difference. Given than Panasonic uses a wider than 4/3 standard for their 16x9 mode, people have been using a new term called 'Cinema Crop Factor' which is not 2 like the 4/3 standard, but more close to 1.8 if I recall correctly. Given the 7D I think is somewhere near 1.6, you can see that 50mm on the 7D would be ~56mm FoV on the m4/3 (using the numbers here).
(although it might be closer to 1.89 actually IIRC).

I can confirm the 60D signal behaves just like the t2i and 5D on an external monitor. We just got a couple in stock and that's the first thing I tested, it does indeed stop down to 480.

I'm surprised that no one here talked about the pretty big difference with the 7d and t2i in very low light. I did a really extensive research and found that the 7d is allot better than the T2i in pretty extreme low light conditions. The 5DM2 was better than the 7d but that's not the subject here. 7D vs T2i ....7D wins

Wow! Loved the video concept, REALLY impressed! We have a music video we shot with 2 7Ds and 1 t2i that will be shown on CMT soon. We also felt the same way, and used their footage 100% interchangeably. I prefer shooting on the 7D because I find the interface easier to use and the weight of the camera helpful, but other than that, from an image standpoint, I am confident with either giving the same results.
Loved this.
And kelvin white balance, with pretty much takes the t2i alot closer to the 7d. But with better audio of course.
