Commericals that annoy you...

Commercials can be annoying by virtue of being over-aired. But, when they are on every commercial break AND there are glaring production errors, I shudder.

There are several out there but for me right now, tops is this one:

It's a McCormick Grill Mates commercial. It's lit well. And, it's a dude grilling. Not an annoying concept but I can't get past the phony grill smoke and the obvious raw meat that's been colored. And when he flips the steak, the grill marks on the steak doesn't match the direction of the grill top. If you've got an annoying commercial and a "why?" feel free to post, ***** and moan here.

It would be easier to list the commercials that don't annoy me. Advertising is the death of all things good in the world.

I was just blogging about how I wish the ad industry would learn to do cool things, or just go die.

The most annoying commercial that I've seen recently is that stupid Five-Hour Energy ad that plays 3-4 times whenever I watch a movie on Hulu. So annoying.

This was a local Tax place out in Memphis a few years back. I saw their ads all the time. The ads were bad enough, but they actually used a clip from The Dukes of Hazard at the end!

No, because the whole point of the commercial is to have two Indian guys speak in stereotypical Indian accents. That's what "funny" apparently: foreign looking people speaking in foreign accents. I know many Indian actors who refused to speak in an Indian accents for comedic effect because they consider it offensive, the producer of this commercial really should have known better.

No, because the whole point of the commercial is to have two Indian guys speak in stereotypical Indian accents. That's what "funny" apparently: foreign looking people speaking in foreign accents. I know many Indian actors who refused to speak in an Indian accents for comedic effect because they consider it offensive, the producer of this commercial really should have known better.

Not to detract from your point—it is valid—but here in Israel, I constantly hear radio commercials with exaggerated American and Russian accents. It sounds very funny to me, an American, and I'm in no way offended.

By the same token, my wife and I are quite fond of mimicking the way Israelis speak English (and their diction.) Recently heard example, in which a man was speaking about his dog: "I grew him."
