Hi all, just looking for some advice with colour grading C300III footage in FCPX. I've been filming in Clog2 on the C300III which I believe is the recommended PP. Whilst filming I apply a 709 out on the monitor to help with exposure which I would like to add in FCPX. I've since downloaded the LUT folder from Canon but i've tested each of the LUT's in this folder using the FCOX LUT loader but none of them seem to actually do anything at all, as in they don't changes he picture at all. Am I missing a trick here? I have used this method successfully with Sony Slog2 and on my S1H in V-log. Is C-log different in some way? Thanks for any advice.

They all definitely affect the picture...what are you using inside FCP X to apply the LUTs? The built-in basic tool?

Also make sure to turn off the native LUT that is being applied to your footage by FCP X in the 'Info Inspector' section (if it is) so you're starting from scratch.

Thanks NorBro. I've changed the LUT in the info tab to None and its solved the issue. Strange that FCPX does that only to the Canon footage. Is there a way to turn that off as default?

Strangely, there isn't...so you'll have to select all of your clips and remove it manually.

[I've always assumed there are hundreds of videos out there that have had a default LUT applied accidentally.]
