Color Grading samples...

Re: Color Grading samples...

Bluespider,

You aren't a beginner! And the sound (speach) is good. The overexposed video isn't so bad with the sound and acting. Your audience is "watching" the sound and the actors. Don't worry it gonna be a good movie.

Re: Color Grading samples...

I liked the opening of the second one more. But it seems the files stopped playing for me. I might need to reinstall the windows player on my mac so maybe I'll get to see them all the way through.

Re: Color Grading samples...

wow...im out of it for a little bit and this board goes haywire! ::)

nice grabs man. i feel like you could still crunch the blacks in the girl head shot to match the black hair with the guy sitting in corn field...the levels dont match much there. the bedroom scene too maybe?

the bedroom scene kinda freaks me out...more then the girl.

Re: Color Grading samples...

And with BLUESPIDER's final note... we put this one to bed.

Agreed? :D

Wow, I just read this whole thread start to finish. Makes a guy tired. Just to put in my two cents I think that this can be summed up quite simply. It is always better to start with the best image possible. Everyone here knows this. Sure, these images could have been properly exposed, he did what he could with what he shot (and quite well in my opinion). I do agree with Serg that using filters can be advantageous especially considering the reduced latitude video forces us to work with.

ya dug deep to bring this back from the grave. what ever happened to the serg - those "ill bring us back, trust me" and "im not stable" quotes were hilarious and a little nutty?
:furious3:

and i wanna see some of his damn cell phone shots! maybe we got a terrence malick on our hands. skillz

8 months later, lets rile this up again!
