Color Grading samples...

Re: Color Grading samples...

BLUESPIDER - did you really read my first post?

"Is any wrong with your camcorder? Why do you have to color correct your video so dramaticaly? You can do this with your camcorder without any surgery. " - from my first post.

All the other posts are for the others, not for you. So don't take it so hard , I wasn't attacking you.

I know.

Re: Color Grading samples...

Not gonna lie to you, the before grabs looks bad.  Waay too bright and overblown.

Re: Color Grading samples...

I agree. And I also agree that the final print is what matters and the final print here is pretty damn cool.

Re: Color Grading samples...

John Hudson

You didn't have the time to read all those posts, did you? So you just get into this tread in the last section. So, it wasn't me who attacked others, the first "f*ck you" was adressed to me.

Bann my IP, please. Do you have skills in network administration? Do it, but read all those post before you do it.

Lien - Adios,

If that makes any difference to you guys, saying the above is different than f* you.

Maybe Sergej isn't Russian. Given his affinity for Spanish, maybe he is an out-of-wedlock son of a Cuban mistress of a Soviet missile technician. She missed him so much when the Soviets left Cuba, she changed his name from Sergio to Sergej.

That would also explain the revolutional zeal he has in asserting his point of view.

Re: Color Grading samples...

woah i was just sticking up for spider. i get touchy with people who are like you and cant find a better way to "constructively criticize" people. You were just arguing to argue. Your people skills, or lack there of- will get you no where.
John dont ban me please. :'(

Re: Color Grading samples...

I agree Segej did not throw out the first bad word.  But his writing tone set off that he was attacking more than saying he didn't care for them.

When I came upon these images I got from what Bluespider said was that these were the first things he shot with the camera.  I got the idea that he was new to this game.

The thing was he showed how he fixed them the before and the after.  He wasn't afraid to show his weakness.  To me he showed his courage by showing some underexposed footage and how he fixed it.

I think we should all be proud of him.

Also I keep wondering if this is the same guy (Sergej) who loved the XL2 so much that he had fights with other people and that's why he only signs up as a guest.  To we have a mystery on our hands?

Now I have a DVX, actually its in New York and I'm in the midwest.  But I'm not loyal to any brand.  I'm loyal to what gets it shot.  If its the DVX great, if its and Arri Bl4 great.

I can't remember if this guy was French, Spanish, or from Canada.  Maybe I'm mixing it up with something else.

All I know is that I could fit into a John Hudson movie because I have poison oak all over my arms and I look like I'm becoming a lizard.

Is Jarred playing games with us? Sergej, please - throw away your Zorro's mask and tell us you are Jarred in disguise - ruling according the tried and true 'divide and conquer' method! Who else than Sergej Zorro himself could save us from the oppression of the IP police?

Re: Color Grading samples...

It has always mystified me that when someone does something that warrants a warning and a threat of being banned due to the behaivor they can't just say "My bad..." but instead have to push and push and basically dare you to follow through on it.

That only tells me that they could care less and that it's probally the best action to take.

Re: Color Grading samples...

this is not a grammatically correct statement

By whose analysis though ;). There is nothing grammatically incorrect about "my bad." Is it idiomatic? Yes, certainly but it falls easily within the bounds of "legal" English:

[My] [Bad]
[Determiner][Noun Phrase]

That said even if it WAS "ungrammatical" from the viewpoint of a school grammarian it is NOT ungrammatical from a linguistic point of view. The fact that it is used all the time in speech easily demonstrates this. The "rules" of language are abstract and do NOT describe the language that they are supposed to govern. With English many of these rules were enforced so that it would fit better with the almighty grammar of Latin. English isn't even a latin based language! Bad Latin obesessed early grammarians... now we are stuck with "correct" principles that are in no way "correct."

I'll end my linguistic rant now :)
